Adventure Begins in Northern Arizona

Mormon Lake, Arizona ~  Gathered around tables in the cool shade of a bistro awning, it was possible to hear conversations in German, French, and Spanish; a debate about which motorcycle best suits the roads of northern India; two gentlemen comparing their pop-up truck campers; and a family with two toddlers discussing their upcoming road trip to the Grand Canyon. The atmosphere was charged with the promise of adventures near and far.

All of these people were guests at the annual Overland Expo, an international event that educates and inspires people to get out and explore the world, by vehicle or motorcycle. Over 4000 do-it-yourself adventurers enjoy 85 different classes, workshops, and roundtable programs, or visit 125+ exhibitors who offer four-wheel-drive and adventure motorcycles, accessories, camping gear, and adventure travel services. Over a dozen countries and five continents (and a subcontinent) were represented, everyone enjoying music, food, and a film festival in the evenings, and on-site camping and services.

Overland Expo is organized by ConserVentures, an Arizona organization that promotes travel and exploration opportunities that connect people to each other and to special places.
