Vehicle rentals in New Zealand?

My wife and I are headed to New Zealand in March and I wanted to see if you knew of anybody down there who did vehicle rentals?  We are looking at renting a pop-top camper van to spend our 2 weeks traveling around the south island.  Any leads would be helpful! Thank you for your help.

Traveling around the North or South Island? There are plenty of companies doing rentals for traveling NZ. Check out Juicy Rentals, Britz, or Escape Rentals for the camper van type. More along the lines of a classic 4WD overland vehicle . . . look into Overland 4WD Rentals. Their pricing was too much for my budget while living there, but nice folk. If you want a cheap DIY overland 4WD rental place on the South Island, check out Rhodes Rentals. I used them to rent a Navara for a 10 day trip (on/off-road) around the South Island. Lots of good advice in the Lonely Planet books (bring a copy with you!).

Just reading NZ 4WD Mag when I noticed the comment. Try Overland 4WD Rentals) Toyota Prado (and others?) with campkit. They are based in Christchurch—South Island. Cheers, Ron.
