WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT OVERLAND EXPO 2018 EAST:

from attendees

“After stalking weather apps for the two weeks leading up to the event to make sure I knew what to expect as far as weather was concerned, I drove up 11 hours on Thursday because I knew the event would be outrageously crowded. I arrived in chilly, wet conditions and set up camp inside the complex. I met some amazing folks, enjoyed being prepared for the weather, and trudged through the mud. The winds woke me up Saturday morning around 1am and I exited my tent to the most amazing starscape imaginable. When it came time to leave, I of course stressed about not being able to make it out without help from my fellow campers. Amazingly, strangers came out to help get my rig through the mud while onlookers cheered us all on. I left a freezing, wet mess with a giant grin ear to ear because that's what overlanding is about. It's not always sunshine and rainbows. It's also rain, snow, ice, wind, and darkness. It's your level of preparedness that determines how ruined a trip is for you. I feel for those that got turned away, but the coordinators had to make a tough decision and you can't please everyone. It's a shame, too, the experiences everyone had with the shuttle service. It sucks there were those that had a miserable time. This overlander had a blast! Thank you Overland Expo 2018 EAST for a stellar weekend.”

“Yes it was muddy, and cold, but I didn’t let that get in the way of what this event is about. It’s about overlanding and dealing with the elements. It’s about meeting new people and making new friends. Learning a little, buying a little. I for one had a great time and am thankful for the many people I met along the way. Regardless of everyone’s perception, this will truly be a memory discussed for years to come.”

“The Overland Expo was more than we could have ever asked for. We were connected with all sorts of overlanding, camping, off-grid, and other folks. Yes, there was weather.......but that’s what being an “outsider” or an overlander is all about. If you’re into off-roading there was plenty to see as we all played in the mud. The event staff worked their butts off despite all weather conditions, and they did it with a smile. THANK YOU Overland Expo for a great weekend.”
