How to Control Your Rig’s Entire Electrical Setup From One Screen

Overlanders love adding gear to their rigs — especially high-tech, energy hungry gear. And why wouldn’t we? Every piece of kit that enables us to stay out in the backcountry that much longer is worth its weight in gold.

However, for every additional device or gadget added to a rig, the technical complexity of keeping all of them all powered and running efficiently goes up exponentially. So, what’s an overlander to do? Enter REDARC.

REDARC is an Australian brand well known around the world for its electronic and power control systems designed, built, and torture-tested in the extreme conditions of Australia. And REDARC just revealed one of its most ground-breaking products for the North American market: RedVision.

RedVision is a controller that lets you, well, control and monitor all of your rig’s electronic accouterments from one single spot … well, technically, two. RedVision can be controlled from a smartphone app as well. But we’ll get to that in a minute.

RedVision is a user-friendly in-vehicle display that allows you to turn on and off your lights, fridge, inverter, water pump, compressor — you name it — all from screen. More than an all-in-one on/off switch RedVision also displays live-monitoring stats of your systems.

In fact, you can isolate electronics to turn off while leaving others on. Ready to hit the hay for the night and want to turn off everything, including lights and the water pump, but leave the fridge running? That’s simple with RedVision.

If you pair it with the REDARC Manager30 Battery Management System, you can also see live state-of-charge and secondary power consumption and storage data. That means you can see exactly when your battery will be discharged and know exactly when you’ll need to start using solar, for example, to replenish the power.

Remember how we mentioned that the RedVision is both an in-vehicle control screen and also a smartphone app? Well, with that handy app on your phone (available for both Apple and Android) means you don’t have to leave your tent or the cab of your rig if you forgot to turn — or turn on — one of your electronics. Just control it right from your phone with a couple taps of the screen.

If you’re interested in learning more about the REDARC RedVision, you can check it out over on the REDARC’s U.S. website.
