Tales from the Trail: Wyoming BDR

The Backcountry Discovery Route organization has done an amazing job mapping routes across ten different states to get you out beyond the velvet rope, allowing you to become an active participant in the painting that is America.

Q&A with Ford Bronco Brand Manager, Matt Winter

We sat down with Bronco Brand Manager Matt Winter and asked him some questions about the Bronco’s R&D program, which Ford dubbed “Born Wild” and claimed was its most strenuous R&D program to date.

Tales from the Trail: McGrew Trail

I first traversed the infamous McGrew Trail in southwest Oregon in the summer of 2021. And, as the legend suggests, McGrew proved to be a wicked test of endurance for my friends and me.

What I Learned on a 480-Mile Pure-Electric Overland Trip

I’ll admit that I went into my Lightning loan expecting it to fall flat. Instead, Ford’s latest pure-electric pickup proved to me that EVs are indeed ready to take on overland adventures — albeit carefully orchestrated ones.

First Overland Adventure: Fences Through the Kalahari

The year was 1983, and Graham Jackson’s family lived in Pretoria, South Africa. Graham’s dad decided the family should go back to the Okavango in Botswana for summer vacation. This was right at the infancy of overlanding as we know it today.
