Overland Film Festival Presents Epic Around The World Journeys & More

Overland Expo is proud to bring you a fine selection of films documenting overland travel at Overland Expo East in Arrington, VA October 11-13. Join us Friday & Saturday evening for a series of short and long-form films submitted by overland travelers documenting their around the world trips by motorcycle and vehicle.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11

7:00 PM PRESENTATION – INDIA ON A MOTORCYCLE by Candida Lewis

2017 Change Your World Fund grantee, Candida Lewis, just completed an epic 6-month solo motorcycle journey from India to Sydney—the first Indian woman to do so, in support of women’s education and rights. Join Candida for a short presentation documenting her travels to kick off the Overland Film Festival festivities.

8:00 PM FEATURE FILM – WHATEVER MAY COME by Christian Vogel

34 year old Christian Vogel sets out to fulfill his hearts desire to travel around the world by motorcycle. Leaving his apartment, job and family behind, he sets off alone on a journey across 22 countries. Whatever May Come documents his 50,000 kilometer journey, showing both the unforgettable experiences and the tremendous obstacles and dangers he experiences over 333 days of travel as he traverses North American, Russia, China and India and sections of Mongolia, Pakistan, Nepal and Iran.

Join us for film festival short films that will take you across the frozen Canadian tundra with Brokentooth, Canada’s Ice Road Biker, see the work the Rally for Rangers team continues to do to preserve globally significant ecosystems around the world, explore the Mexican-American border by motorcycle with filmmaker Sterling Noren, and more.

8:00 PM FEATURE FILM — ROMANTIC ROAD by oliver mcgarvey

Rupert is a 65 year old lawyer living in the south of England and Jan is a retired corrections officer who takes care of their rural cottage alive with chickens, sheep and cats. They still receive their milk from a milkman everyday and their family car is a hand-me-down 1936 Rolls Royce. They are about to completely divorce themselves from reality in order to realize their dream. Enter the controversial world of two English eccentrics on a road-trip in India.
