I’m inspired by the spirit of adventure. Ted Simon rode his Triumph thru 45 countries, over 78,000 miles in 4 years. I laughed, worried and triumphed alongside Ted as I read of his adventures!

For some people it’s shoes – for me, I could never have enough jackets! The Renegade jacket is highly versatile with a clean yet sophisticated design that can be dressed up or down for any occasion or adventure.

One day, I would love to roam the country visiting all of the U.S. National Parks with my family and our dog in one of these Sportsmobile dream machines. Being able to pop up camp anywhere we choose – while bringing many of the comforts of home along on our journey – would be such a blast!

I do not own a JL. That being said, I love the drawer and cargo management system from American Adventure Labs. It is so modular it will fit in more than just the JL. Nick Taylor from 7P Overland is getting one for his Land Rover Discovery II and I’ll be getting one for my LR3. How you carry your gear is at least as important as the gear you carry.

Arguably the best optics in the world. For whatever adventure you are planning, getting up close and personal with the natural world should be high priority list. I’ve used Swarovski binoculars on safari in Africa, and it’s like having a plasma screen in your pocket.

I first purchased the second edition of what has come to be known as the ‘Overlanding Bible’ back in 2003. I have purchased every edition since then; they keep getting better and better. This book is gold for anyone who overlands. Tom Sheppard and Jonathan Hanson provide a wealth of knowledge written in a clear and concise style.

Not all motorcycle trips go as planned, and this is one of those stories. Liz ends up taking a journey to find out more about her ancestors but finds more about herself along the way. She brings the reader along for the ride, which might just inspire you to take your own journey.

It’s better to see and be seen than not. As a rule, I try to set up camp before the sun goes down, but for those times I find myself on a twisty mountainside road (it’s happened more times than I care to admit), it’s best to have a little help lighting the way.

Nothing compares to travel experiences. Taking a trip to someplace like Botswana is a once in a lifetime adventure (for most of us) and traveling with the folks at 7P would make it that much more memorable.

The holy grail for the overland traveler is a capable vehicle with interior space to be able to handle the elements easily. The EarthCruiser EXP packs a lot of vehicle into a 140” wheelbase. With the ability to fit inside a normal shipping container, the EXP is perfect for domestic and international travels.

Available in early 2020, the ARB ZERO Dual Zone Fridge has the flexibility to be a fridge, fridge/ freezer, or freezer. Available in sizes including 73qt and 101qt, the Zero Fridge Freezer can be installed in your car, camper, or trailer with ease thanks to the side-opening, quick-release lid to swap openings, and front and rear DC inlets. For extra convenience, the fridge also features a front AC inlet for home or powered site connection and a handy USB outlet to charge your devices.

The Helinox Chair Zero is super light (1.1 lbs), compact (4”x 4″x 14″ in its stuff sack) and it holds up to 260 lbs. Smaller and lighter than a water bottle, it’s the perfect lightweight addition to your camping kit.

Having put nearly 80,000 miles on the “Great Aunt” of the 2020 CRF1000L (my trusty 1989 Honda Transalp), I am a long-time fan of Honda’s workmanship. I would love to take this machine for a spin around Mongolia and maybe the rest of the continent… 🙂

I am a side, back, front, every-which-way-but-warm sleeper, so NEMO’s 15 degree Jam spoon-shaped sleeping bag has my name on it!

I love how multi-functional and customizable VSSL’s first aid kit is. With options that include a flash-light, compass, and 46 first aid / self-rescue essentials that come in a water-proof and impact resistant cannister, it’s a great upgrade from the standard ripstop sporting good store first aid kit.

I want to pack all my Christmas presents into the Reckless 80L setup from Mosko Moto! Often imitated, never duplicated, this unique system requires no pannier racks and is versatile enough to fit perfectly on anything from an elf-sized dirt bike to Santa’s biggest GSA.

Tried and true gets even better now that ARB released an aluminum cased awning. Improving on arguably the most popular off-road awning in existence, ARB added a rugged case and an LED light strip as standard equipment.

There is something about reading a high-quality, in-print magazine with fantastic insight and images into the world of overlanding. In a world of digital instant gratification, Overland Journal sticks out to me as a publication that can come along on my next adventure into the woods away from it all and be a pleasure to read each time I pick it up.

My morning doesn’t start without a cup of coffee. Still looking for the ultimate traveling french press and this one comes pretty close!

I would love to see some of Africa, but would want a guide my first time there. What better people to see this awesome place with than 7P.

These guides are the best around when it comes to exploring the backroads of Colorado and the GPS Data card lets me load the routes on my handheld GPS for easier navigation.
