Get out and play? Don’t mind if I do, actually. It just so happens that Kawasaki is releasing an updated KLX300 for 2021 and this little bike has play written all over it, in lime green of course.
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for Kawasaki and the 2021 KLX300 promises to provide unlimited on- and off-road fun. Weighing in at a scant 280 pounds with an enduro-inspired 292 cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, this little KLX was born to be a blast.

Staying true to its roots, the all-new KLX300 dual-sport motorcycle comes ready to deliver an exciting riding experience, even on paved streets en route to the trails. The new engine on the KLX300 guarantees a rewarding spread of power across the rev range.

The fuel injection system contributes to reliable starting in a wide range of conditions and the electric start makes firing up the KLX300 a breeze. Optimized ignition timing and a gear-driven engine balancer also contribute to a smooth engine, providing maximum rider comfort during long trips.

Pretty much anything with a 21-inch front wheel is a winner in my book and Kawi fitted the KLX with offroad tires and an upgraded suspension to match. The 43 mm inverted cartridge-style fork handles the suspension up front and comes with compression damping adjustability. In the back, the gas-charged Uni-Trak suspension has preload and rebound damping adjustments, so you can tune your ride to the type of fun you’re having.
The KLX is quite a little looker, too. According to Kawasaki the “modern off-road styling is guaranteed to turn heads in the city and off the beaten path.” Maybe all that head-turning will be the result of the digital instrument panel and aggressive stylistic touch. Or perhaps, heads will turn because you’ll be out playing so hard on your KLX and having more fun than everyone else on the trail.
