The American electric vehicle company, Alpha Motor Corporation has unveiled its fully-electric utility truck concept called the WOLF. With the projected MSRP starting at $36,000, the WOLF may prove to be one of the more affordable electric trucks on the market when it is (potentially) released in 2023.
When looking at the specs of the WOLF, one has to wonder if the low projected MSRP is based on a price-per-inch model: the overall size of the WOLF is quite small at 188 inches long and 76 inches wide and only accommodates a driver and one passenger. Additional storage can be found under the hood.
Staying true to the adage that “good things come in small packages,” the WOLF is anticipated to display impressive power, being able to accelerate from a standstill to sixty miles per hour in 6.2 seconds. Additionally, the Lithium-Ion battery should last for around 275 miles. (Not bad when you consider the highly anticipated $67,000+ 2021 Rivian R1T is projected to have a range of 300 miles.)

Of particular importance to the overland market, the WOLF will be available with four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive and will be able to tow 3000 pounds.
According to Alpha, the interior of the WOLF will feature advanced technology and fittings, “ including a driver-centric digital speedometer, a digital center display, ergonomically bolstered seating, multi-layered center console storage, multiple charging ports for electronic devices, and audio speakers, all designed for replaceability.”
With its smaller overall size, it will be interesting to see if the affordability of the WOLF is enough of a lure to catch the eye of the overland market. It may wind up being the perfect lead to pair with a small trailer for some overlanders.
