Ram Kicks off the New Year with the Return of the TRX

Ram’s powerhouse pickup is back, and it’s busting into the New Year with some new upgrades and plenty of horsepower. Just shy of a year ago, the Ram TRX was discontinued, but thankfully, its absence was extended, and later this year, this beast will be back on Ram lots nationwide. The TRX has gained some performance bumps with 777 horsepower produced by the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 versus the 702 of the original version. We got behind the wheel of the OG TRX, and with 75 fewer horsepower, it still had plenty of get-up-and-go. We can’t wait to check out the newest edition of this HEMI-powered pickup that’s noted as launching to 60 in 3.5 secs with a top speed of 118 mph. These impressive stats solidify the TRX as a worthy entry into the newly revived Street and Racing Technology (SRT) Performance division. It also makes the first time a pickup included the SRT badge since the 2006 Ram SRT10.

The 2026 TRX offers much more than horsepower. It’s designed to be durable and adaptable across a wide range of off-road conditions. The front vs rear torque is adapted depending on the selected terrain mode. For example, the Baja Mode is rear-biased, and 4L is paired with a 50/50 split. With front and rear locking differentials that are available in both 4WD High and 4WD Low, the TRX can handle tough trails at any speed. Underneath, you’ll find underbody skids, and the TRX can be optioned with full-length rock rails or steps. Fourteen inches of travel is provided by second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks paired with Ram Active Terrain Dynamics.

Who says that the most powerful production gas pickup in the world can’t also be comfortable and convenient? The interior boasts the technology and comfort-focused features you’d expect from a luxury truck with a best-in-class 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a head-up display that provides a 10-inch field of view. Inside, you’ll also find hand-wrapped leather interior surfaces, heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, and class-exclusive dual wireless charging pads. For the first time, TRX also features Hands-Free Active Drive Assist (L2+) as standard. This innovative driver assist allows TRX to be both a thrilling chariot and a relaxing chauffeur and, alongside RHO, makes Ram the only truck manufacturer to offer hands-free capability on a high-performance, off-road, gas pickup.

Beyond the performance and tech, the TRX has plenty of style. Each example features a bold Flame Red R-A-M flow through grill badge and matching front and rear tow hooks. If you’re looking for even more stylistic touches and a bit of exclusivity, the Bloodshot Night Edition celebrates the relaunch of TRX with a Blacktop upper paint scheme, a Flame Red center hood stripe with matching accents, splash graphics, carbon-fiber interior trim with red detailing, a glass-encased center console badge, and red-outline TRX badging.

While the TRX may be a bit more desert runner than overland rig, we still think it offers plenty of performance features to make a great base for a go-fast travel-light rig, especially if you’re inclined to moe right-pedal motivated adventures. With a wedge camper and few interior necessities you could have a capable truck that was also a daily driver that puts a smile on your face.

The starting price of the 2026 TRX is $99,995 plus destination fee. It’s also covered by RAM’s recently expanded and best-in-segment 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. This expanded warranty covers the 2026 model-year Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Ram 3500, Ram Chassis Cab 3500/4500/5500, and Ram ProMaster vans sold in the United States and Canada.
