Ram is bringing the ProMaster City back to the U.S. for 2027, giving van owners, builders and small businesses another compact platform to consider. Arriving in the first quarter of 2027, the midsize commercial van starts at $39,995 including destination, making it one of the most affordable new options in the commercial van segment.
Built on Stellantis’ proven commercial vehicle platform, the front-wheel-drive ProMaster City is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 166 horsepower and 221 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

For overlanders, tradespeople and adventure van builders, the biggest draw is its balance of size and capability. The ProMaster City offers 167 cubic feet of cargo space, more than 2,000 pounds of payload and a targeted 2,000-pound towing capacity. An overall height of less than 80 inches also allows it to fit into most parking garages while still providing a tall, usable cargo area for storage systems or lightweight camper conversions.

Inside, every ProMaster City comes standard with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital rearview mirror and heated front seats. Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert and a rear backup camera.

Buyers can choose between Tradesman and SLT trims, along with cargo van and passenger wagon configurations. The platform is also designed with upfit flexibility in mind, making it a practical foundation for everything from mobile workshops to compact camper builds.
Production begins later this year, with the 2027 Ram ProMaster City expected to arrive at dealerships in the first quarter of 2027.
