When you think of luxury overland vehicles, where does your mind go? Do you picture a well-built G-Wagen, or possibly an Earth Roamer? Now you can add another adventure-ready vehicle to those ranks, the Morgan Plus Four CX-T. With a heaping amount of retro flair, the Plus Four CX-T builds upon Morgan’s history of all-terrain endurance racing, and it’s produced in collaboration with the off-road motorcycle specialist at Rally-Raid UK. Morgan has created a unique rig that’s ready to depart from the tarmac.
The distinctive Morgan styling stands out when you take in the car as a whole, but when components are individually observed, you can see that many of the modifications and design decisions are shared across other off-road and overland builds. With a bespoke suspension that provides 9- inches of ground clearance, five skids plates, a locking differential, and side-mounted exhaust to improve the departure angle, the CX-T is plenty capable of traveling beyond the beaten path. Camping and recovery equipment is housed in a custom exoskeleton that rides on the rear of the car. Amongst all of these modifications, the CX-Generation aluminum chassis is shared with other current Morgan cars. This was an intentional design decision that’s intended to show the strength and durability of the platform.
While it might not be the best option for rock crawling or deep mud, the Plus Four CX-T will undoubtedly be the most stylish vehicle at the end of your local forest road. You can secure one of the eight Plus Four CX-T’s produced for a starting price of $277,000.
