BRS Offroad Debuts $91,000 ‘Carbon’ Pursuit Trailer

First things first: The BRS Offroad Pursuit Carbon camp trailer is not constructed from carbon fiber. Then why the name? Australia-based BRS says it refers to the gone-dark color, not the construction materials. “This stealthy black rendition of the Pursuit series maintains all the exceptional features of its counterpart but adds an aura of mystery and refinement to your Australian adventures,” BRS says on its site.

The original Pursuit overlanding trailer has always been a standout and was voted Camper Trailer of the Year by Camper magazine in Australia all the way back in 2018, helping launch then-startup BRS Offroad. The original Pursuit, now called the Pursuit Platinum, remains in the lineup. It is now joined by the slightly smaller Pursuit Carbon and the rugged Sherpa Gen 3 model.

The 19.7-foot long Carbon’s chassis rides on Maxxis all-terrain 265/65 tires on 17-inch rims, airbag suspension with electric brakes, and a sophisticated tri-material construction for comfort and durability. “High density closed cell foam vacuumed bonded between two fiberglass panels” creates a single structure “immune to contortion and separation,” a unique feature to the Pursuit, according to BRS.

Standout features of the Pursuit Carbon include very comfy sleeping quarters for two campers, an interior kitchen/media center with inset stereo speakers and a TV, plus a unique fold-out hard-floored hot water shower/cassette toilet that sets up quickly and protects users from the elements despite being essentially “outside” the main structure of the camper. The interior kitchen features dual 30-liter chilled drawers, an 80-liter upright Isotherm fridge/freezer, a stainless sink, and more, arranged much like a home kitchen.

Outside, there’s yet another kitchen setup on a slider that includes a barbeque. The door to the rigid camper is a full-height entry with steps that glide into place via an electric motor, much like a small private jet. Audio speakers are also built into the outside kitchen slider. The nose compartment holds more gear, and the main sleeping area is graced with a large skylight for stargazing. Heat, lights, power, and more can all be operated remotely by a small removable tablet

There are numerous power outlets, 140 liters of water storage, 95 liters of grey water storage, locking bins for firewood, jerry can holders, and several options for awnings, a motorized bike rack, and more. Ready to pull the trigger and go overlanding in Aussie-built luxury? The Pursuit Carbon starts at $137,000 AUS, which converts to about $91,000 USD, and you’ll probably need to pay to get it to the States from Down Under as well.
