Known by most as Gianni and Rocky, this duo of opposites has been behind-the-scenes of the outdoor industry for the past decade. Both bred in San Diego, educated in San Luis Obispo and professionally based out of San Francisco, they fled Silicon Valley in search of Salt Lake’s Wasatch sanctuary where they now work for a better life instead of working to barely live. From wheeling to jet-setting out of their 100-year old bungalow base camp, they’re constantly in search of desolate wilderness and that perfect pocket water for fly fishing.
Gianni thinks best outside, dreams in elaborate spreadsheets, and modifies everything. It’s no wonder he dove deep into the world of product design/development and manufacturing for SONY, Triple Aught Design, Pronghorn Overland Gear, and SilencerCo. A lover of sleepers—currently a Wrangler TJ, Dr. Jones, and an Outback XT, The Granola Hearse—Gianni’s been working on cars since before he could walk and actually enjoyed the 400+ hours he wasted building his own 12-point roll cage. He is now plotting to build a Tony Stark workshop in his backyard.
You’ve probably seen Rocky in the Equipt Expedition Outfitters booth at Overland Expo. She has a quirky sense of humor, the mouth of a sailor, laughs loudly, and talks supersonic fast. Her insatiable drive and knack for creative problem-solving led her to head up marketing for Triple Aught Design, SilencerCo, and Equipt Expedition Outfitters. Currently, she manages her own consulting firm, Donati Agency, boasting clients such as Overland Journal, and teaches functional movement to those still stuck behind a desk. She likes to cruise in her vintage Volvo 1800ES and imagine she’s Jamie Bond.
