Overland Expo East 2026 was one to remember, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up the 2026 event season. Beautiful fall weather from start to finish and a jam-packed event made for a memorable weekend at Oak Ridge Estate in Arrington, Virginia. 203 exhibitors, 202 hours of programming, and four great days welcomed attendees from 49 states. Even more impressive, over half of the attendees were first-timers to Overland Expo.

Overland Expo East 2026 also holds the honor of adding a new event to the weekend with the inaugural Overland Expo Charity Dinner. This sold-out event featured an outdoor dining experience prepared by Chef Natty of Food for Adventures along with live music from Jacob Paul Allen. The evening raised $4,200 for the Venture Unknown Foundation. The Overland Expo Foundation also sponsored Thursday’s Happy Hour, welcoming everyone to the weekend with great drinks, conversations, and plenty of excitement.
New Overland Gear and Product Debuts at Overland Expo East 2026

Every Overland Expo sees new gear debuts, and this one was far from lacking, with plenty of reveals amongst the exhibitors. Starting on the smaller, but infinitely handy, Condor Tool & Knife brought the very first Condor Overland Shovel for everyone to check out. With a 1/2 inch driver, an impact side on the T-handle, and durable powder coating, we can see this being infinitely useful in the backcountry. For those looking to work or just stay connected in the backcountry, Blue Ridge Overland Gear’s new Starlink Mini Bag is a great option for keeping your dish, cords, and other accessories protected and easy to transport. Algorithium Overland’s new cube system is a great way to standardize your cooking setup from prep to clean up. Genesis Offroad brought out the first production version of their Juicebox 100, a super simple dual battery setup that makes it incredibly simple to power your accessories without draining your main battery. Alu-cab is constantly improving their line of tents and campers, and for Overland Expo East, they brought the highly anticipated Drive-Off Base for the ModCAP camper line to the US for the first time. It provides all of the comfort and durability of the regular ModCAP, but now you can lift it off your truck for day-to-day utility tasks. Wrapping up our preview of debuts at Overland Expo East 2026, X Grid Campers had two off-road trailers from Urban Caravan on site. This Australian Company is just breaking into the US overland market, and X Grid is the exclusive dealer. We’re super impressed and will be sure to learn more about them and our other picks in the upcoming Best Gear of Overland East 2026 roundup.
Overlanding Education and Off-Road Driving Experience
Education has always been at the heart of Overland Expo, and East 2026 was no exception. Throughout the weekend, 76 instructors and speakers led 191 sessions, totaling 202 hours of educational programming. Attendees had opportunities to learn from experienced travelers, sharpen their skills, and prepare for their next adventures. The Storytelling Pavilion, sponsored by BFGoodrich Tires featured presentations from accomplished adventurers, while the Backcountry & Culinary Skills Pavilion, sponsored by Storyteller Overland offered practical instruction for life off-grid. Roundtable discussions and the Women Who Wander Pavilion provided additional opportunities to share experiences and connect with fellow travelers.

Of course, Overland Expo is always excited to get people behind the wheel, and for this event we partnered with Jeep to make an awesome driving course that was buzzing all weekend long. Jeep brought out Rubicon JLUs and Gladiators, and it was great to see how capable these vehicles are right off the lot. Of course, there were thousands of awesome rigs on site, so don’t miss our Best Rigs of Overland Expo East 2026 that will be live soon!

Overland Expo East After-Hours Events and Community Highlights

The fun didn’t stop when the exhibitor area closed. On Friday evening, attendees gathered at the Oasis Bar & Food Court, sponsored by Nexen Tire America, for a Happy Hour hosted by General RV. With refreshments from the official beer sponsor, Devils Backbone, it was a great opportunity to catch up with friends and connect with fellow overlanders. Friday night’s festivities continued with the Overland Expo Film Festival, sponsored by Midland Radio, featuring films celebrating adventure and exploration, while Subaru hosted Camp Subaru LIVE! On Saturday, Toyo Tires sponsored another community happy hour before the Overland Expo Foundation Charity Raffle took center stage. The raffle raised an impressive $30,020 to support the Foundation’s mission of protecting public lands and expanding opportunities for outdoor recreation, providing a fitting conclusion to another day of adventure and community.
