The FWC CampOut Brings Next Level Customization

The CampOut Series is the newest addition to the Four Wheel Camper lineup, and it brings the best from some of their most popular products to the slide-in camper world. Four Wheel Camper, or FWC for short, is no stranger to the overland world. Weekend warriors and world travelers have been using these campers since the 1970s. While most of their models are fully outfitted slide-in models designed to fit a wide range of truck platforms, the introduction of the Project M bolt-on pop-up camper in 2019 saw a shift towards a more lightweight and customizable option.

FWC CampOut Series

Now, the CampOut Series is bringing the modular nature of the Project M to the comfortable world of slide-ins. However, the end user isn’t left to their own devices when they want to kit the CampOut Series because Four Wheel Camper has a host of options to meet the needs of their customers. The list of modules is expansive, with plenty of standard and optional units, but some standouts include dinette seating, propane heating systems, multiple refrigerator options, solar and power systems, roof vents, thermal kits, water storage, and exterior options. These modules are far from the pressboard and thin lumber like campers from decades ago. They’re constructed using modern bamboo countertops, slotted aluminum extrusions, polypropylene honeycomb panels, and HDPE doors with compression latches. Essentially, the end user can have the FWC CampOut as spartan or outfitted as they please to suit their style of travel and camping. All of this can be installed by a dealer at the time of purchase, or you can spread these options out over time.

It’s great that Four Wheel Camper is giving their customers the option to upgrade as they determine their needs. This is a great strategy to apply when selecting your overlanding gear, so why not apply it to your backcountry abode? Four Wheel Camper has an extensive dealer support network and brand history, so taking some time to dial in the CampOut has zero cons. We can’t wait to see how customers outfit this new offering from FWC as it begins to hit the market. The Four Wheel Camper CampOut Series is available for mid-size trucks with 5 ft. and 6 ft. beds as well as full-sized trucks with 5 ft., 6ft., and 8ft. beds.
