Earlier this month, Four Wheel Campers debuted its most advanced flatbed camper yet: the Hawk+. So, what sets this model apart from other Four Wheel Camper offerings? Read on to find out.
The brand-new Hawk+ promises more features and functionality for longer, more off-grid overlanding and roadtripping adventures, and delivers on these promise by upgrading the brand’s classic Hawk camper with extended-travel capabilities, full self-containment and more. For those familiar with the 50-year-old brand’s flatbed design, the Hawk+ builds upon that design, and is Four Wheel Campers’ first-ever fully self-contained camper.
The Hawk+ is designed for extended travel on-grid or off, and includes an expanded power capacity, increased fresh water storage, an integrated grey water system and smart interior layout to make full self-containment a reality. The Hawk+ is specifically designed for heavy-duty trucks with a 7-foot flatbed tray, and is designed to maximize every inch of available space. In a nutshell, the Four Wheel Campers Hawk+ includes more power, more resources and more space.
Power Up
You want power? You’ll get power with the Four Wheel Campers Hawk+. The newest design from the legacy brand includes external 12V/120V ports with USB & USB-C for external charging, a dedicated exterior DC port for Starlink Mini, so that you can stay connected anywhere, and a suite of optional upgrades. These include:
- Up to 810Ah lithium battery capacity (optional) – Massive energy storage for extended off-grid adventures
- Up to 500W of roof-mounted solar panels (optional) – Harness the sun to stay powered anywhere
- RedArc Manager Alpha 75 (optional) – Advanced power management for monitoring and charging
Increased Resources
The Hawk+ is designed for extended stays, whether that’s in the backcountry or at your favorite local campsite. Upgrades to the new design include:
- 40-gallon fresh water tank – Twice the capacity of standard FWC slide-ins and flatbeds
- Built-in 5-gallon gray water tank – A brand-new feature for Four Wheel Campers, designed for added convenience and compliance
The Hawk+ also includes an optional cooking upgrade in the form of a inset portable 2-burner induction stove, which can be use indoors or outside to increase cooking flexibilty.
Stretch Out, Get Comfy
One of the drawbacks of staying in campers while overlanding is the lack of usable space — but the Hawk+ has been engineered to solve for tight quarters. The redesigned interior includes the following upgrades:
- +6″ of floor, counter, and cabinet space – Expanded interior footprint compared to the original Hawk Flatbed
- +6″ of dinette space (compared to original Hawk Flatbed) – Seats up to four, ideal for meals or working on the go
- Pass-through external storage – Includes a convenient flip-down table for outdoor use
- New front countertop – Features integrated pantry storage for organization
Additionally, customers can add on a rear MOLLE rack for mounting gear and accessories, should things become crowded inside.
