For this month’s Gear Showcase, we wanted to focus on some of the fantastic new equipment hitting the market in Q4. From campers to radios and from gloves to ratchet straps, we’ve curated a list of the latest and greatest just in time for your holiday shopping.

AT Overland Equipment — Aterra Slide-In Camper

AT Overland’s Aterra Slide-In Camper (ASI) brings the company’s legacy of rugged, world-ready design into a modern lightweight hard-sided platform built for today’s adventurers. Honeycomb composite construction and UV-stable polyurea exterior deliver true four-season durability at a remarkably low weight – starting under 760 pounds for the basic DIY shell and 820 pounds for the Standard Model. The angled exterior improves trail clearance and structural strength, and AT’s self-aligning bolt-in mounting system makes installation fast, secure, and completely strap/turnbuckle free. Available now for full-size trucks and for mid-size trucks beginning in mid-2026, the ASI stands out for versatility, resilience, and genuine expedition-level capability.

Inside, the ASI provides a fully enclosed, insulated living space that adapts to each owner’s needs. Customers can choose the minimalist DIY shell or Standard Model. The upgradable Standard model includes an extendable 74″ x 80″ king bed, RedArc power management system, Lion Energy 105Ah Lithium battery, 185W solar panel, dimmable LED lighting, Tern roof fan, four double-pane Tern windows with screens and blackout blinds, and multiple USB and 12V outlets. Up front, a dedicated power cabinet organizes electrical components neatly while doubling as cushioned seating. Integrated safety gear is positioned here as well, incorporating essentials without intruding on living space. A roof-mounted port supports Starlink Mini for off-grid connectivity.

What sets the ASI apart is its modularity. Owners can customize immediately or evolve their setup over time with optional heating and cooling, water systems, sink and shower solutions, fridge/freezer integration, toilets, awnings, MOLLE panels, and a wide range of custom-made storage modules. Whether configured as a lightweight shelter or a fully equipped mobile apartment, the Aterra Slide-In Camper provides an adaptable platform for every adventure – a worthy, trail-ready home built to take travelers farther with confidence.

CompoCloset — S1 Dry Flush Sealing Toilet

For off-grid travelers managing waste can be one of the most inconvenient parts of life on the move. Most portable toilet options force a compromise: cassette and black tank systems are unpleasant to empty, bucket setups struggle with odor, and traditional composting toilets aren’t for everyone. Meanwhile, dry flush toilets offer convenience but mix liquids and solids meaning more bags, more $$, and more plastic waste.

The S1 Dry Flush Sealing Toilet was designed to solve all of these problems at once. The S1 is a new direction for off-grid sanitation, built for overlanders, van-lifers, and outdoor travelers who want a dry flush toilet that’s actually convenient, hygienic, and affordable to run.

It is the world’s first separating sealing toilet – combining a urine-diverting bowl with an automated, battery-powered heat-sealing mechanism. By keeping liquids and solids separate, the S1 eliminates the need for chemical powders or gel agents and reduces plastic waste by up to 80% compared to other dry flush systems. Liquid waste flows into a dedicated 1.7-gallon bottle equipped with an LED indicator light that signals when it’s time to empty, while solid waste is contained in compact, hygienically sealed packets made with either compostable or plastic liners.

Powered by a 12V lithium-ion battery, the automatic bagging mechanism delivers 40–50 seals per charge and can be wired directly into a vehicle’s electrical system, plugged into a wall outlet or taken with you where you need to go. The S1’s ABS body, stainless steel hinges, waterproof connectors, and integrated side handles make it durable and easy to transport, whether  it’s mounted in a van build or carried between remote camps.

By pairing reliable urine separation with an efficient heat-sealing system, the S1 gives overlanders a cleaner, lower-waste, longer-lasting toilet solution, one that keeps them out on the trail longer and makes remote travel simpler, more comfortable, and more self-sufficient.

MSRP: $1,199.00 (Bamboo Seat Cover: $125.00)

Note: The S1Dry Flush Sealing Toilet is in presale. Due to high holiday demand Batch 1 is sold out (shipping in Feb). Batch 2 is now in presale and will ship in April 2026.

KYB — JAOS Lift Kit for Jeep Wrangler, Lexus GX460, Toyota 4Runner, and FJ Cruiser

For over 20 years, JAOS (Japan Offroad Service) has specialized in the manufacturing and distribution of the most innovative and premium quality off road products available worldwide. JAOS has developed a reputation that exceeds customer expectations.

The KYB JAOS Suspension Lift Kits provide up to a 2” lift, enhancing ride performance and adding extra clearance for larger tires. Larger tires and wheels add unsprung weight to a vehicle and make it harder to control. The adjustable damping and increased ride height of the KYB JAOS kits are perfect for handling the extra weight of larger tires and wheels.

On applicable models, the adjustable dial at the base of each KYB manufactured shock and strut allows for 14 different rebound and compression settings. The 14 settings allow the user to manually adjust the suspension for varying vehicle loads and road conditions. Each kit comes complete with two shocks or struts and two coil springs. It is recommended to utilize both front and rear kits when making this upgrade.

The KYB JAOS dampers use a proprietary technology called HARMOFREQ. It works by fine tuning the damper’s response to different frequencies, making sure the ride stays smooth and stable, even on rough and uneven terrain. For someone using a lifted or heavier offroad vehicle, this means better control, reduced bounce, and less fatigue during long drives over rocky or bumpy trails.

The Baja 1000 race winning JAOS Suspension Kits are currently available for many Toyota 4Runners, FJ Cruisers, Jeep Wranglers and the Lexus GX460, with more applications being announced soon.

Midland’s new Explorer Trail kit is purpose-built for overlanders who demand clear, reliable communication when the pavement ends and real adventure begins. Centered around the MXT275 MicroMobile Two-Way Radio, this kit packs 15 Watts of GMRS power- three times the power of traditional handhelds. With this power, the MXT275 ensures trail drivers, spotters, and convoy members stay connected even in difficult, remote terrain.

With its Fully-Integrated Control Microphone, the MXT275 allows users to hide the radio away, a huge advantage for vehicles where dash space is limited. The result is a clean, streamlined install that doesn’t sacrifice usability. Powered up by a simple DC vehicle adapter, the MXT275 is the ultimate plug-and-play GMRS two-way radios for newcomers and experienced off-roaders alike.

The Explorer Trail Kit also includes Midland’s Canyon Edge Edge 3 dB Bull Bar Antenna System, built for high performance and durability in environments like dense forests, rocky mountain passes, and high desert mesas. Completing the kit is the SPKMINI External Speaker, a compact yet powerful 10-Watt accessory that ensures transmissions come through loud and clear- perfect for loud engines, open windows, or open-air vehicles when trails get loud. Despite its impressive power, the SPKMINI is made to tuck discretely into the cabin, maintaining the functionality and comfort of any off-road rig.

From exploring solo or large convoys, Midland’s Explorer Trail Kit provides dependable, performance-driven communications gear for the toughest off-road conditions. Compact, rugged, and trail tested, the Explorer Trail Kit has everything needed for adventure beyond the beaten path.

Otzi Adventure Gear — Otzi ModRack Adventure Van Bundle

The new Otzi ModRack Adventure Van Bundle brings the rugged carry capacity known from overlanding into the van-life arena with purpose-built sophistication. Originally developed for off-road rigs, the ModRack system has been adapted and refined to meet the needs of adventure vans: the kit includes two wedge mounting brackets, a top platform (30″ × 14″) and an octagon tire face plate. With these components, gear—everything from coolers and water jugs to Hi-Lift jacks and shovels—can be carried externally on the rear mounted spare tire of a van, freeing up cabin space and keeping equipment accessible. The tie-down points and proprietary hole pattern on the octagon face plate allow tool and recovery gear mounting without the need for drilling or modifications.

This bundle is designed for maximum versatility. The top platform’s full surface area and integrated mounting tracks accommodate both strap and L-track accessory load-outs, making it ideal for rugged terrain and trail-tested conditions. The octagon face plate attaches via four 1″ endless-loop straps, making removal and re-attachment straightforward—no disassembly needed when a flat tire occurs. Even theft deterrence is addressed: the design allows a cable lock to pass through the platform, wedges, octagon and wheel structure to secure the system.

For van-life and overland enthusiasts alike, the ModRack Adventure Van Bundle offers adventure-ready design married with installer-friendly attributes. Whether it’s remote campsites, dusty tracks or fast lane freeway en route to your next destination, this system transforms your van’s rear tire from a passive component into a functional gear hub. It elevates the overlander ethos—built to endure harsh terrain—to the practical daily environment of the adventure van. With full compatibility for rear-mounted spare tire carriers, it’s positioned as a smart solution for those who want serious storage without sacrificing style or function.

VentureXplorer — The Camperboxx

The CamperBoxx: Instantly Turn Any Van or Trailer Into a Camper

Meet the CamperBoxx by VentureXplorer, built around three core purposes: instant conversion, zero commitment, and true versatility. VentureXplorer designed the system to transform a van, trailer, or truck into a fully equipped camper within minutes and just as quickly return to full cargo mode whenever needed. For anyone who does not want to commit to a permanent camper build, this solves a major problem. It also addresses an issue most folks never consider until it happens: mechanical failures, collisions, and long repair times. With traditional builds, your entire interior is tied to the vehicle. With the CamperBoxx, you simply roll the pod out, transfer it to another platform, or temporarily stage it at a campsite while your vehicle is being repaired with no teardown, no rebuild, and no downtime.

At its core, the CamperBoxx is engineered with a reinforced structural frame, full insulation, and a fiberglass exterior built for all-season use. Every component is modular and serviceable, designed so parts can be swapped or removed for warranty and post-sale support. Each unit comes fully loaded with sleeping space, an indoor shower, toilet, water heater, freshwater and gray tanks, and complete pre-wired electrical and plumbing. VentureXplorer also offers add-ons like rooftop tents, solar systems, awning mounts, and roof rails to fit different travel styles. The patented system is designed to adapt to high-roof vans, low-roof vans, trucks, flatbeds, utility trailers, and even standalone micro-living setups. All compact enough to store in a standard garage, with built-in casters and lifting legs for easy mobility.

What truly sets the CamperBoxx apart is its ability to move between vehicles and reclaim cargo space instantly. VentureXplorer didn’t create the CamperBoxx to replace traditional custom conversions. It was built it to offer a real alternative. For those wants to maximize every inch of floorplan or build out a full family camper, a custom conversion or full-size RV is still the best fit. But for solo travelers or couples who want a non-permanent, flexible setup that adapts to their life instead of locking them into one rig, the CamperBoxx delivers a portable solution engineered for both freedom and real-world practicality.

Wander Voyager — Sprinter AWD Expedition Vehicle

Wander Voyager’s Sprinter AWD model redefines what a compact expedition-grade vehicle can be. Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500XD 170” AWD cab chassis, it pairs a high-output 4-cylinder diesel engine (211 hp, 332 lb-ft) with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and a 24.5-gallon fuel tank. While traditional expedition trucks prioritize size over agility, this platform delivers true mobility—easy to drive, easy to maneuver, and perfectly suited for both remote terrain and everyday roads. Despite having a similar footprint to standard Sprinter vans, it offers significantly more interior living space and far greater off-grid capacity.

Its advantage begins with the camper box: a 2.3” XPS-insulated fiberglass structure that outperforms regular van shells and creates unbeatable four-season comfort. Paired with a 12,000 BTU residential-style split AC, 5000W diesel heater, and King Shocks suspension upgrade—2.5” front coilovers and 3.0” rear shocks with remote reservoirs—the rig maintains stability, comfort, and climate control anywhere it travels. Off-grid systems include a 12V 10 kWh battery bank, 6000W inverters, 1300W of solar, and generous water tanks: 60 gallons fresh, 40 gallons grey, and 20 gallons black.

Inside, the Sprinter AWD model feels more like a small apartment than a van. The full kitchen features a two-element induction cooktop, large sink, microwave-air-fry combo, 24V kitchen hood, and dual 75L convertible fridge-freezers. The bathroom includes a walk-in shower, macerating toilet, large sink, and towel warmer—rare amenities in this size class. A dinette with adjustable table converts into additional sleeping space, while the hammock-style queen bed preserves openness and flexibility. An awning extends outdoor living possibilities, and the layout comfortably seats two and sleeps up to four.

For travelers who want the maneuverability of a Sprinter with the comfort, insulation, and off-grid endurance of a full expedition vehicle, Wander Voyager’s Sprinter AWD stands in a category of its own—compact, capable, and truly ready for four-season adventure.
