Go Fast Campers V2 Pro Rooftop Tent Features Numerous Improvements

Montana-based Go Fast Campers has updated its popular roof-top tent and pickup bed camper shell system, resulting in the V2 Pro system with numerous improvements. However, the $8,450 price of the V2 Pro remains the same as the original GFC camper, first introduced in 2017.

Go Gast Campers says they’ve sold 8,000 of the original version of the camper system since that time, and have made improvements based on customer feedback. The changes range from notable to minor, and overall, the wedge-shaped tilting-top setup stays true to the original design. The shell and tent weigh 275 pounds in total.

Improvements include better ventilation by way of large closeable vents in the top corner of the tent material and easier-to-use zippers on the main rear door. There’s now multi-color LED lighting both in the tent and underneath the tent platform to illuminate the pickup bed area, and even rounded corners on some parts to improve handling safety.

One big area of focus for GFC was moisture and condensation control. All three windows can now be propped open for maximum airflow, and large panels of marine-grade fabric that collect moisture line the hard shell of the camper so any moisture can be absorbed and then more easily evaporated. The panels also block out more light for late-morning sleepers.

Mattress comfort also received attention, and the team spent two years developing a sleeping surface, TurboMat, with improved foam density. The new surface also works with the GFC “transformer floor” access panel system.

Small changes include side pockets near the front windows hold phones and other small bits for quick storage, loops and hanging points inside the tent for lanterns, water bottles, keys and other small items, and an under-floor cubby for bedding, jackets and other soft materials.

On the exterior, new, stronger latches with bi-directional keys also resist freezing, and the latches include a tight-fitting cover to keep out moisture, dust, and debris. The rear window is now tinted for increased security.

GFC also revised their CNC machining of the corner braces, claiming it cuts just short of 1 pound of weight from each camper. Reason? “For America,” according to a GFC worker in a video outlining the new features of the V2 Pro.
