Reimagining the Camp Stove: GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Pro Ultra-Thin Camp Stove

Let’s face it, camp stove technology has remained pretty static for decades. In fact, I still use a “very popular green camp stove” on my overland travels. From my experience you tend to get one type of burner on any camp stove on the market…Hellfire missile. As an amateur chef, I love cooking complex meals on my camp stove, but I’ve really never been able to simmer anything on my stoves. There is no in-between, either they are scorching your pans or they are off.

The good folks at GSI Outdoors must have the same problems as me because they just introduced a Kickstarter for the new GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Pro Ultra-Thin Camp Stove (which is 99% funded as of the writing of this article). Four years have gone into the design of this innovative camp stove. and it SIMMERS!

Compact

The bulky camp stove is a thing of the past with the Pinnacle Pro. The ultra-sleek and modern design of this stove takes up about 50% less space than your typical camping stove, measuring a compact 20” x 12.4” x 1.4”, allowing for easy storage and freeing up tons of space in your gearbox. Yet with the flip of the legs and cover, it converts to a full-size professional grade camp stove.

Durable

Don’t let the compact profile of this 9.5 pound stove fool you. GSI Outdoors didn’t compromise on functionality or durability in their design — this stove will stand up to the most rugged of conditions. Innovative design coupled with a rugged build of stainless steel, die cast alloy and steel offer up a stove that will provide years of reliable use.

High-Output

The patent-pending ultra-thin high output 11,000 BTU burners are the key to the compactness of this stove. Yet they can still quickly and efficiently heat anything you might be cooking up for the crowd. The stove connects to standard 1 lb propane tank and the shielded quick-ignition button gets dinner going in no time.

Easy-To-Use

Set up is simple, with a quick flip of the lid, legs and cover the stove is ready for prime time.  The cut-away profiles in the side windscreens allow for handles to be rotated out of the way. And when you are finished cooking the stove simply folds away with the push of a button.

Easy-to-use and easy-to-clean, the Pinnacle Pro is ready for anything.

Easy-To-Clean

Real talk, cleaning a camp stove is the WORST part of cooking in the backcountry. Clean-up is a snap with the Pinnacle Pro – the pot support grill easily rotates out of the way for quick and easy cleaning of the non-stick coated spill-over tray.

The GSI Outdoors Pinnacle Pro Ultra-Thin Camp Stove is available on Kickstarter until September 3, 2020 for $175.00 and will go into full production thereafter for $234.00. Hop on their Kickstarter and get yours today!
