Four years ago, three high school friends, Jesper Thiel Thomsen, Christoffer Nyvold, and Hjalte Wieth started SOUNDBOKS in Denmark. They designed the original SOUNDBOKS to be the first and only portable speaker capable of throwing a real party anywhere. And, with a small team, they built the first 400 in a garage outside Copenhagen.
After selling out for Roskilde Festival 2015, the trio quickly realized that this speaker is perfect for any music lover, no matter where they are. So they made their effort international and launched on Kickstarter.
The SOUNDBOKS community grew strong and the demand kept increasing, so they kept innovating, iterating, and growing the team. Each battery takes 3.5 hours to charge from dead to full. Once fully charged, you’re ready to listen for 40 hours at mid-volume (which is still pretty loud) or up to five bass-bumping hours at max volume (which is amazingly loud — it goes all the way to 11). Bring one battery for the weekend, or stock up for a longer trip and swap them out as needed.
