With overlanding taking the automotive world by storm, it was only a matter of time before the well-heeled decided it was time to get in on the game. But for the champagne and caviar set, you can’t show up to the glamping site in just any old vehicle. After all, Land Rovers are what the farmhands on your estate drive, and Branson spirits you away from the Gulfstream in a Range Rover. And a Jeep? That’s so colonial. No, the only choice for the gentleman with everything is clearly a lifted Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
What, you’re telling me that a $400,000 luxury barge never crossed your mind as the perfect vehicle to explore the wildest and most remote places? Well, someone with far more imagination (and deeper pockets) has commissioned Delta4x4 of Germany to build a one-off go-anywhere version of the Roll-Royce SUV.
The conversion will include a 3-inch lift, 33-inch Mickey Thompson AT tires on 20-inch rims, full skid plates, roof rack, snorkel, and widened fenders. The complete conversion is said to run a paltry $160,000 dollars.
While those of us who drink beer from cans and sit around the fire in $5 camp chairs might balk at the price and perceived hoity-toitynes of an Overland Cullinan, hear me out. I once laughed at the idea of people building Porsche Cayenne’s into overlanding rigs, and I was wrong. People have done amazing stuff with Cayenne’s, and they are cool to see out in the wild. So who knows, maybe Cullinan’s will take the market by storm, and you’ll start seeing them on your local trail. If you do, be sure to hit them up for some Golden Almas caviar at the lunch stop, I’m sure they’ll have plenty to share.
