Way back in 2008, Sylvansport introduced the versatile GO multifunction trailer. For 2024, SylvanSport has reconfigured the perennial favorite into the GOAT trailer, or GO All-Terrain, with a focus on overlanding.
The 1,200-lb. trailer features a clever design that compacts for easy transport. It includes a top storage section that holds a spacious camper tent that folds down and then out, as opposed to a rooftop tent. A front compartment offers more storage beyond the 4 by 7-foot trailer bed space. Compacted, the GOAT is under 16 feet long and just under 58 inches tall.
The top section sits on expandable risers that allow motorbikes, bicycles, an ATV, or large cargo to be loaded into the trailer under the tent while in transport. Load capacity is 950 pounds. Side braces add strength and safety, and a fold-down step on the back makes entry easy. The sides of the GOAT can accept MOLLE panels for adding more gear.
The GOAT chassis has been upgraded with Timbren axle-less suspension and Falken 275/75 R15 WildPeak AT Tires that provide 18 inches of ground clearance. A rotational hitch allows for towing over rough terrain, and the departure angle is a generous 42 degrees.
Once the tent is deployed, there’s room for two adults on two large fold-out beds. Two interior drop-down tables can be utilized to create a large king-sized bed or space for four adults to sleep comfortably. The windows include mesh screens, storm panels, and privacy zips.
Pricing starts at $18,495 for a basic setup with a tent, $19,995 for the GOAT Big package with numerous options, or $21,995 for the GOAT All Out turn-key kit that includes a kitchen set, sleeping bags, a gazebo addition, solar panels and much more. Sylvansport says the GOAT will be in production in April, but buyers can reserve a unit now.
