The HEMI is Returning to Jeep and RAM

Well, if you’ve been following the demise of the V8-powered Jeeps and RAM 1500 trucks, it has been a wild ride that seems to be continuing. After the apparent demise of the RAM TRX, Stellantis announced the Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition for the 2025 model year, seemingly sealing the fate of the V8 options for the Wranglers and RAM 1500s. The 392 Final Edition built upon an already impressive Wrangler with cosmetic updates throughout and a number of upgrades including; a triple hoop grill guard, a Warn winch, a fold-out tailgate table, an onboard air compressor, a custom toolkit, and even .5 inches of additional lift on top of the 1.5 inch lift and 35-inch tires found on other 392 Wranglers. All of this made for an impressive send-off for the powerful Wrangler.

Well, now it appears the end of the 392 was more of a lull. According to some remarks from Stellantis leadership, the Wrangler 392 is coming back, and it’s bringing some friends. Our friends at The Drive reported that Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf, speaking at a recent briefing, said, “Wrangler and Gladiator fans, and the Hemi fans in general, don’t worry. We got you.” That’s right, the Hemi is back at Jeep, and seemingly, it will be debuting in the Gladiator soon.

Once again, fresh on the heels of the discontinuation of the RAM 1500 TRX, Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa said, “The V8 engine on versions such as the RAM 1500 TRX will deliver to us additional volumes.” Given that the TRX currently isn’t available, this seems to insuate that a return is on the horizon. While no official dates have been given, at least we know that the last Hemi-powered Jeeps and RAM 1500s aren’t a thing of the past. We’ll be sure to update our audience once the official dates are available.
