This May Be the Coolest Airstream We’ve Ever Seen

If you’re into concept vehicles, cutting-edge tech, and all-around newness, CES is a treasure chest of discovery. Alongside the newest drones, cameras, and advanced robotics, some of our favorite vehicle manufacturers highlight new and emerging designs and concepts. After the latest CES, one design that caught our editors’ attention was the new Midnight Flamingo package — which will be available starting in 2025 as an optional upgrade to the Flying Cloud travel trailer.

The Midnight Flamingo package builds upon the enduring design of the Airstream, while bringing some modern sensibilities to the table. The Flying Cloud has been Airstream’s most popular line for years, and has more floor plans than any Airstream line and a wide selection of optional upgrades — and the Midnight Flamingo package is taking things to another level, stylistically.

The style upgrades of the Midnight Flamingo option include eye-catching black exterior accents, a premium Klipsch audio system, upgraded interior decor, and more. These upgrades don’t just look good — there’s functionality built-in, as well. For instance, the black exterior accents won’t just catch the attention of other campers and motorists — they also provide a protective coating on the front stone guards, removable LP cover, and bumper with storage. Continuing the dark and mysterious vibes, a new black trim replaces Airstream’s standard chrome trim around the entirety of the trailer. The awnings received the midnight treatment as well: both the streetside and roadside awnings are made with stark charcoal tweed Sunbrella® fabric.

Exterior upgrades that aren’t purely about style are included in the Midnight Flamingo package as well: The optional upgrade includes boondocking functionality, a factory-installed 3-inch lift kit, and a 200Ah lithium battery bank and 300 Watts of roof-mounted solar panels to help you stay off-grid for as long as you’d like. The Midnight Flamingo package also comes with the optional rear hatch, one of Airstream’s most popular upgrade options. The interior of the Midnight Flamingo also gets updates in the form of a new, dark monochromatic palette and additional blackout features.

Starting early this year, the Midnight Flamingo package will be available in the Flying Cloud 25FB and Flying Cloud 27FB models. If you’re interested in the Midnight Flamingo upgrade package, be aware it will come with a cost: while prices for the package haven’t been specified, the 25FB is priced at $110,500, and the 27FB starts at $119,000 — so you can bet the Midnight Flamingo upgrade is going to cost a pretty penny.
