Overland Expo West continues to expand its motorcycle (moto) programming, offering riders of all levels a chance to sharpen their skills, learn from seasoned experts, and hear firsthand stories from those who’ve pushed the limits of two-wheeled travel. This year’s lineup blends practical, hands-on instruction with inspiring storytelling from the adventure riding community.

Throughout the weekend, attendees can take part in a full schedule of classes designed to build confidence both on and off the bike. From foundational techniques to advanced riding strategies.

Sunday Highlight: Custom Moto Prep Clinic (Moto Camping)

One key session takes place Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Moto Camping area, not the ADV Skills Area. The Custom Moto Prep Clinic, led by AZADVTOURS and the Adrenaline Addicts, focuses on dialing in your motorcycle for the trail. Riders will learn how to adjust controls and suspension, along with how to properly position luggage for better balance, comfort, and performance. This is a practical, hands-on session designed to help you get the most out of your setup.

Sean Flanagan: The Useful Fear

Sean Flanagan, a seasoned riding coach and round-the-world motorcyclist, brings a deeper perspective to the Expo with his session, Lessons from Two RTW Motorcycle Trips: The Useful Fear.

Having traveled across more than 40 countries including regions like Central Asia, Pakistan, Africa, and the Middle East, Flanagan shares insights that go beyond the highlight reel. His talk explores how fear, often seen as a barrier, can actually serve as a critical tool for decision-making when navigating unfamiliar environments. Through personal stories and hard-earned lessons, he challenges riders to rethink how they interpret risk on the road.

Ashley McIntyre: A New Generation of Riders

Ashley McIntyre is redefining what young riders can accomplish. At just 14, she has already won national championships, set world records, and completed a motorcycle ride across America from Mexico to Canada. In her session, Ashley shares her story, what motivates her, and how others her age can be inspired to get outside and start riding.
