The ROAM Rambler Hardshell Rooftop Tent

Our friends at ROAM Adventure Company quietly launched the Rambler Hardshell Rooftop Tent last month – and it looks great. The Rambler features a ruggedized, aluminum reinforced ABS fiberglass shell, a comfy mattress, and panoramic windows for enjoying your campsite. This is the first hardshell in ROAM’s lineup and a fantastic first effort for the company.

ROAM Rambler Hardshell Rooftop Tent

Let’s cut to the chase. A rooftop tent needs to be comfortable, easy to set up and take down, and it should provide some visibility so you can see around you when you’re zipped up for the night. The ROAM Rambler looks to tick all of the boxes for any premium rooftop tent.

You’re definitely not roughing it in the ROAM Rambler Hardshell Rooftop Tent. The standard 2.75-inch mattress made from high-density foam provides comfort – even deep in the woods. If you’ve ever slept in a rooftop tent without insulation, you’ll know that it can get pretty cold at night. The ROAM Rambler manages heat with a padded base and ceiling to stop the clod from seeping in and the heat from escaping. The two panoramic windows provide lots of cross ventilation and a nearly 360-degree view around your campsite.

The rugged hardshell of the ROAM Rambler Hardshell Rooftop Tent is made of molded aluminum strand reinforced ABS fiberglass, ensuring durability on trails or the highway. The two door openings are crucial if you share your tent with a significant other.

No one likes having to crawl over your partner to climb down the ladder to go pee at night. While the tent only comes with one 7.5-foot lightweight telescoping aluminum ladder, you can always purchase an extra ladder – if needed. The tent features quiet zippers, so you’re not waking up the entire camp at night too.

The ROAM Rambler is quick and easy to set up, requiring only two latches to unbuckle to allow the padded gas struts to deploy the tent. The tent includes two easy-to-pull straps to break the tent down and stow it away for the next day’s adventures.
