EarthCruiser Returns with a Bold New Look

Around a year ago, we unfortunately had to report the closing of longtime expedition vehicle builder EarthCruiser. They had been a cornerstone of that industry for years and were a common sight at Overland Expo. Now, we couldn’t be more excited to report that EarthCruiser is relaunching with a new product lineup that sees their expertise applied to a new corner of the overland vehicle market.

The new operational model will see Earth Cruiser provide their EC MOD slide-in campers and TerraNova shells to select adventure van builders and upfitters across the US. This new model will see structurally complete EarthCruiser units delivered to the partner network, where they’ll be installed and finished to meet the customer’s own pace and budget. This new strategy allows EarthCruiser’s experienced engineers and design team in Bend, Oregon, to reach a broader audience and forge new partnerships with builders around the country.

“This shift isn’t just about distribution,” says EarthCruiser founder Lance Gillies. “It’s about realigning with the core values that EarthCruiser has stood for since the beginning — craftsmanship, innovation, and a genuine commitment to our customers.”

In the near future, EarthCruiser will debut the highly anticipated EVADO for Sprinter chassis builds and some towable options. This new offering will also be available at a number of build partners.

“Building a real overland vehicle requires a fundamentally different approach than producing large volume mass-produced assembly line RVs,” says Gillies. “It must be engineered from the ground up with experience and customer requirements front of mind, the real needs of the people who use them.” That takes a conversation, not always possible with the traditional RV dealer model. Experience counts.

The new business model isn’t the only news from our friends at EarthCruiser. They’re also launching Tag-Along Training Tours. These immersive adventures provide customers the opportunity to refine their skills, build confidence, and connect with the EarthCruiser community in stunning overland destinations.

We’re excited to see the EarthCruiser team continuing to innovate, and this model will undoubtedly make their high-quality goods more easily accessible nationwide. When the new EVADO is revealed, we’ll be sure to share that exciting option with the Overland Expo audience.
