Off-Road Business Association Relaunches with Renewed Goals and Collaborations

The Off-Road Business Association is back and ready for action with an expanded advocacy strategy, enhanced research capabilities, and a renewed commitment to its core mission. The Off-Road Business Association, ORBA, is dedicated to its core mission of serving as the off-road business community’s leading advocate in issues affecting access, recreation, and responsible land use. In addition, ORBA is taking a more rigorous data-driven approach, including regional economic impact reports, consumer research, and a deeper collaboration across the entire outdoor recreation community.

“No single organization can achieve our advocacy goals alone,” said ORBA leadership. “The future of off-road access depends on strong coalitions, shared expertise, and coordinated action. We are always stronger together. Thank you to all who have taken the time to provide us important guidance and insights as we developed the future of ORBA, including many members of SEMA’s TORA community and local and regional OHV advocates.”

This shift towards coalition-based action will see ORBA working closely with partners across the outdoor recreation space, including leveraging the government affairs expertise and reach of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).

As ORBA enters this new chapter, it remains focused on strong advocacy, collaboration, and the responsible stewardship of public lands. ORBA outlined several initiatives already underway. First, ORBA plans to roll out regional economic impact reports highlighting how off-road recreation supports local economies—an increasingly important tool when engaging policymakers. At the same time, the organization is actively supporting legislation like the Outdoor Americans with Disabilities Act and the Public Lands Access Restoration Act, both aimed at preserving access for a broader range of users.

On the ground, ORBA continues to engage in high-profile land-use issues, including efforts in Johnson Valley, Moab, and the Western Mojave. Through partnerships like EcoLogic, the organization is also helping fund legal challenges to closures that threaten long-standing OHV access.

For the overlanding community and the outdoor recreation community at large, ORBA’s work is of the utmost importance. As we’ve recently accessed, public lands aren’t guaranteed, and it’s something that requires ongoing advocacy, responsible use, and a unified voice. We’re excited to see ORBA’s successes moving forward, and we encourage our audience to engage with ORBA and support them in any way they can.
