Women Who Wander Returns to Overland Expo West with Inspiring Voices and Community Connection

The Women Who Wander program continues to be one of the most engaging and fast-growing experiences at Overland Expo West by bringing together women across the overland community for connection, education, and inspiration.

Women Who Wander offers a full weekend of programming in the pavilion sponsored by Harker Outdoors, featuring hands-on education and storytelling sessions. Throughout the weekend lookout for these great sessions and more.

  • Ladies, Start Your Engines: Automotive Maintenance for Women with Kelly and Grace Howard
  • Self Defense for the Outdoors with Tiffany Richards

One of the highlights is the Women Who Wander Networking Event sponsored by MAXXIS Tires on Saturday, May 16, 10 AM-noon at the Oasis Bar and Food Court sponsored by Nexen Tire America. Guests can enjoy complimentary mimosas and muffins, along with networking, giveaways, and Q&A sessions with featured speakers. Everyone is welcome to attend the brunch and the sessions in the pavillion throughout the weekend.

Alyssa Ravasio

Founder and CEO of Hipcamp, Alyssa has built the leading platform for discovering unique campsites, now spanning more than 140,000 locations. A lifelong camper, she is passionate about expanding access to the outdoors through technology.

She will also host an extended session at 1 PM on Saturday, May 16, in the Hipcamp booth, sharing insights on building Hipcamp and helping overlanders find better places to camp.

Ashley Kaye

Ashley left corporate healthcare in 2019 to pursue a one-year solo journey that turned into a multi-year overland expedition. Traveling with her dog Porter, she drove from North America to Ushuaia, Argentina.

After losing Porter in Colombia, Ashley continued the journey—her story becoming one of resilience and healing through adventure. Her session will cover solo travel, life on the road, and the realities behind long-term expeditions.

As Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs at SEMA, Karen leads efforts shaping policies that impact the automotive and overland industries.

Her work focuses on protecting consumer choice and access, while her personal passion for off-roading keeps her closely connected to the community. She’ll share insight into how policy and advocacy directly affect overlanders.
