Silver Bullet Reclaims the Whole Truck Bed
Most truck-bed drawer systems solve one problem by creating another: they organize gear, but consume too much of the bed to do it. The Silver Bullet was engineered to change that.
In Silver Bullet’s model-matched eight-foot-bed comparison, The Silver Bullet delivers 186.7 gallons of usable in-drawer volume versus 89.8 gallons in a leading comparable two-drawer system. That is nearly 97 additional gallons—108 percent more usable storage within the same truck-bed footprint.

Instead of two narrow compartments separated by a center structure, the Silver Bullet uses one ultra-wide drawer. The design recovers usable space for recovery gear, tools, camp kitchens, riding equipment, and bulky cargo.
The idea began during an elk hunt in Colorado, when an eight-foot truck bed should have been an advantage. Instead, mechanical engineer Isaac Tussey repeatedly climbed into his Ford F-250’s bed to reach equipment buried near the cab. The trip exposed a problem familiar to overlanders everywhere: plenty of space, yet too little of it organized, protected, or accessible.
Tussey searched for a system that used the whole bed and found the same compromises across the market. Products stopped short of the full length, surrendered width or height, added excessive weight, relied heavily on plastic, lacked effective sealing, mounted more permanently than he wanted, or cost more than the value they delivered.
He chose not to buy one.
Eighteen months later, structural aluminum changed the equation. While consulting for an aluminum boat-lift and dock manufacturer, Tussey saw how purpose-designed extrusions could deliver strength, precision, corrosion resistance, and modularity without excessive bulk. Within weeks, he built a rough prototype.
More than two years and 4,000 hours of engineering, fabrication, fitment, testing, and revision followed. That work became Silver Bullet and its flagship product, The Silver Bullet.
Built from 6063-T6 aluminum, the system uses a patent-pending roller architecture. Depending on truck and bed length, the drawer extends 86 to 91 percent, bringing equipment stored deep in the bed back within reach. The drawer carries a 400-pound distributed-load rating, while the platform above is rated for 2,000 pounds under distributed loading—preserving a serious cargo deck, work surface, or sleeping platform.
The eight-foot Silver Bullet includes more than 350 linear feet of integrated T-slot—nearly the length of a football field from end zone to end zone—across the platform, drawer floor, and drawer sides. Instead of a few fixed tie-down points, nearly the entire system becomes a configurable mounting surface for securing gear, cargo boxes, dividers, and accessories. The layout can change with the trip, task, or season.
At the tailgate, a locking compression latch pulls the drawer face firmly against a continuous gasket, helping keep water and trail dust out. Gear stays organized, accessible, and protected when pavement ends.
Silver Bullet designs, engineers, tests, manufactures, factory installs, and supports every retail system in Palmer Lake, Colorado, using U.S.-sourced aluminum and rubber. Keeping the process together allows Tussey to control fitment, operation, and installation.
At Overland Expo Mountain West, attendees can experience the difference in person: more than twice the usable drawer volume, hundreds of feet of modular mounting track, gasket-protected storage, near-full extension, and substantial capacity inside and on top.
Tussey could not find the drawer system he needed.
So he engineered the one the market was missing.
