SITKA Gear and Scout Campers Team Up on a Limited-Edition Backcountry Basecamp

SITKA Gear and Scout Campers have teamed up to create a limited-edition truck camper built specifically for hunters, anglers and backcountry adventurers. Based on Scout’s Olympic Hardwall, the new SITKA x Scout Camper combines a lightweight, hard-sided platform with purpose-built storage, off-grid power and equipment designed for extended trips into the field.

Only 10 units will be available in the U.S. and Canada, each priced at $55,000. That exclusivity comes with more than a special exterior treatment. The camper’s interior has been reworked around how hunters and anglers actually use their gear.

A mudroom-inspired interior is paired with a dedicated heated gear locker designed to dry boots, gloves and outerwear overnight. Custom interior and exterior MOLLE panels, a Zarges bow mount and expanded storage provide dedicated space for rifles, rods and other essential backcountry equipment.

For longer stays off-grid, the camper comes equipped with a pre-wired Starlink Mini, Garmin PowerSwitch integration, diesel heater, and Baja Designs task and perimeter lighting. Richlite countertops and a redesigned interior round out the living space. The press release also lists Scout’s Universal Power Tower among the camper’s upgrades.

Outside, the camper is wrapped in SITKA’s Optifade Open Country camouflage. Rather than traditional camouflage designed primarily around the human eye, Optifade is digitally engineered around animal vision to disrupt a hunter’s outline. It also gives the collaboration an unmistakable SITKA look.

Underneath the upgrades is Scout’s flagship Olympic Hardwall. The composite camper weighs approximately 1,650 pounds and is designed for modern heavy half-ton pickups and larger trucks with beds measuring 6.5 feet or longer. Its relatively lightweight construction and hard-sided design make it a compelling platform for traveling farther from pavement and camping through changing conditions.

SITKA ambassador Connor Gabbott put the camper through a real-world shakedown in interior British Columbia, using it in the same type of backcountry conditions it was designed to handle.

The SITKA x Scout Camper goes on sale September 9, with pickup available at Scout Hub locations in Yakima, Washington, and Abbotsford, British Columbia. With only 10 examples planned, this is a specialized take on the Olympic Hardwall aimed squarely at hunters and anglers who want their truck camper to function as much like a gear room as a place to sleep.
