$80.00 Wiper Blades? BFGoodrich Enters the Windshield Wiper Game.

There’s nothing more infuriating than a dirty windshield when you’re exploring the backcountry. I’ve tried many types of wiper blades in the past and all of them are basically the same. They do a decent job of removing dust, dirt, mud, and grime so you can see where you are going a bit better.

Our friends at BFGoodrich were looking for a better solution and worked with Pylon to develop what might be the world’s first off-road wiper blade. Created specifically for Jeeps, trucks, and SUVs, these wipers are reportedly built as tough as the vehicle you drive.

Designed with the bold tread pattern of the BFGoodrich KO2, these wiper blades look to be more than just cosmetic with a durable rubber element made for the elements you expose your overland rig to on a daily basis – whether as a daily driver or on the trails.

Functionally, it appears they’ve built a lot into a small package;

  • Scrub-X™ Extreme Weather Performance quickly clears away mud, bugs, rain, snow, and grime.

  • Heavy Duty Design with durable rubber element, made for off-road driving.

  • X-Flex™ Suspension for complete windshield contact.

  • Weather Repelling Technology repels mud, rain, snow and ice from the blade cover for superior performance.

  • Secure-X™ Connector for easy and secure installation

  • Inspired by the BFGoodrich® All-Terrain T/A® KO2 Tire tread design

It remains to be seen how these blades actually perform in off-road scenarios, but I’m game to give them a try – even at their retail price of $79.99. But it does beg the question, do these wipers rub without a lift kit?
