Cute but Savage: Royal Enfield’s 2021 Himalayan

Really, what’s not to love about Royal Enfield? They’re the oldest motorcycle company in continuous production in the world. They make delightfully classic bikes that stand the test of time. Plus, they make the Himalayan, the hands-down most adorable mid-weight adventure bike.

The Himalayan rolled out in 2016 to much applause and, in 2021, this rugged little adventurer is getting even better. The 2021 Himalayan retains the original versatility and durability of the motorcycle, with added features to improve the riding experience.

New for 2021 is a switchable ABS for more off-road control, a revamped rear brake that decreases stopping distances, as well as an improved side-stand and hazard light switch. Plus, it’s coming out in three snappy new colors, Lake Blue, Rock Red, and Gravel Gray, adding to the existing portfolio of white, grey, and black.

“The Himalayan continues to be one of the best-selling units in North America,” said Krishnan Ramaswamy, interim Business Head and President of Royal Enfield Americas. “The affordability, versatility and capability of the Himalayan has established it as a must-have adventure bike and with these updates, it’s better than ever before. Simplicity and a great riding experience are the center of who Royal Enfield is as a brand. We’re pleased that the Himalayan continues to deliver that experience to riders across the globe.”

All good looks aside, the Himalayan is an understated little savage in the adventure motorcycle space. It is capable enough to take on the tough stuff, while being approachable enough for newer ADV riders to get off-piste without the big-bike intimidation factor. Don’t let those cute looks fool you, the Himalayan is 100% pure adventure.
