For those of you who were hoping for news of an R1300GS dropping at a dealership near you, sorry to disappoint. For 2023, BMW Motorrad announced model maintenance measures that include new colors, styles, and equipment for all of the GS models.
Since its release in 2016, the half-pint G 310 GS has held steady with a low pricetag and enough travelworthiness to warrant a strong position in the small-displacement market. With a base model MSRP of $5695, you could get one in each new colorway, Cosimic Black, Polar White/Racing Blue Metallic, and Rallye Kalamata Metallic, for the price of a new GSA.
For 2023, the F 750 GS gets real-time tire pressure monitoring added its already standard equipment list along with ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control. This not-too-big and not-too-small GS iteration is known for its extra low seat height and makes for easy commuting, light duty off-road, and all the premium Bavarian fun. The base MSRP is $9995 and a Light White/Racing Blue/Racing Red colorway joins the lineup for 2023.
With a 21-inch spoked front wheel and a proper 90-horsepower output, BMW’s middleweight F 850 GS and GSA, also get RDC tire pressure monitoring standard with all keyless models. The 850 GS now comes in a GS Trophy edition in Gravity Blue with a touring windshield, enduro footrests, and a relocated navigation harness. The GSA’s new color is Rallye Kalamata Metallic and has a base MSRP of $13,595. The GS starts at $12,595 which may still leave you some gas money for your next adventure ride.
BMW’s iconic big-bore adventurers, the R 1250 GS and GS Adventure, also get the GS Trophy colorway for 2023. Additionally, cross-spoke wheels, a rally seat, sport windshield, radiator protectors, frame protectors, and enduro footrests complete the package. If you’re looking for the premium bells-and-whistles, the 1250s are your ticket. The GS starts at $17,995 and the GSA, with its 7.9 gallon tank, has a $20,345 MSRP.
The models can be ordered in the new configurations beginning in August 2022 from all BMW Motorrad partners. If you can’t choose which one you want, just get a couple of them. I’m pretty sure you can always find space in your garage for another motorcycle.
