Could Subaru Add the Forester to the Wilderness Line Next?

This is pure conjecture at this point – but we believe Subaru is about to announce the 2022 Subaru Forester with the Wilderness trim level, similar to the recent unveiling of the 2022 Outback Wilderness. Around the campfire here at Overland Expo, we think it makes logical sense for those looking for a more durable and adventure ready Forester.

Subaru enthusiasts have been outfitting Subarus for years and the Forester is no exception and they’ve been pretty successful in making the platform more trail worthy as evidenced by @fxtadventures 2017 Subaru Forester above, or the builds coming out of LP Aventure out of Montreal, Quebec.

The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness should have the same upgrades to exterior cladding, increased ground clearance, better approach and departure angles, and an upgraded X-MODE tractions system. We also expect the Forester Wilderness will sport a turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine, much like the Outback Wilderness.

One thing is certain, we’ll be there when it is released and get you the dirt on it as soon as we can.
