Dan Grec
International Overlander
Travelers all over the world dream of one day quitting their “real job” and taking off on the Pan-American trail in their rig to discover the wild and beautiful scenery of the Americas. Dan Grec did that in 2009 and although it was a life-changing experience it also made it nearly impossible for Dan to assimilate back into his old life. So Dan took the next logical step- he built a rig and took off to circumnavigate the African continent.
Originally from Australia and now hailing from the Yukon, Dan Grec has just returned from his 53,000 mile circumnavigation of the entire African Continent in his purpose-built Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The adventure of a lifetime, Dan’s expedition spanned three years through thirty-five African countries including The Congo, Mali, Sudan, Nigeria, Angola and many more. Through good and bad, Dan and his Jeep experienced it all, including misadventures like contracting Malaria twice, rolling the Jeep in Uganda and camping at international borders. It seems that Dan’s first foray into global overlanding from Alaska to Argentina, kicked off a life-time addiction to the Overland life.

Dan Grec will be teaching at Overland Expo 2019 EAST covering topics like International Overland Tips and Tricks, West Africa: Adventure into the Unknown, and many more. Dan will also be hosting a seminar on his 2011 Jeep Wrangler that supported him on his African expedition.
