EarthCruiser — the maker of luxurious go-anywhere overland adventure vehicles — has announced an expanded 2020 model year lineup. The stable of offerings now includes dual-cab variants of both the FX and all-new EXP models.
This elongation of the EarthCruiser model line will come as welcome news to long-range overland adventure families who found the two-seater options lacking. Naturally, two seats limits the number of individuals you can bring on your overland adventure.
The dual-cab versions of the two EarthCruiser models, dubbed “Dual Cab,” are based upon the Mitsubishi Fuso. Aside from two additional doors, they aren’t much different than their single-cab garagemates; they still incorporate luxurious features and impressive off-road capabilities. The Dual Cabs are three feet longer and include seating for four, including the driver.
For those not familiar with the new EXP model, it features a pop-top roof, which greatly expands interior space.
Unfortunately, this new Dual Cab EarthCruiser announcement came on the heels of Mitsubishi announcing it would end Fuso model truck sales in the United States.
“Working with Fuso dealers, we have developed a strong team throughout the United States and Canada that always places the customer first,” said Justin Palmer, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America. “MFTA is fully dedicated to making this transition a smooth one for our customers, and we remain committed in supporting a parts and service network for many years to come.”
Don’t let the U.S. discontinuation of Fuso deter you from picking one up, though. Mitsubishi will support its U.S.-market Fuso models through 2028. So, you’ll get almost a decade of adventures under your tires before the parts supply starts to run dry.
