Anyone who’s sweltered in the desert sun or sat stuck inside their rig as the rain pelted down knows the value of a solid awning. But setup and storage can be a pain and take up both valuable time and space, so Salt Lake City-based Equipt Expedition Outfitters have announced a new model, the Eezi-Awn Dragonfly. The Dragonfly awning provides 180 degrees of protection from the elements.
South Africa-based outfitter and awning maker Eezi-Awn says the new $1,350 Dragonfly 180 awnings, which come in two sizes, can be set up and taken down in less than a minute due to its roll-out bag storage design and twist-to-set pole system.
The awning features 260-gram ripstop canvas panels, fully adjustable legs that include staking options, and smart features like a small bend in one leg, so it’s not banging into the front of your rig when set up. Eezi-Awn says the Dragonfly 180 provides a sprawling 96 square feet of shade (or dry cover), but if customers need something a bit smaller, there’s the $1,250 Dragonfly Mini that gives 60 square feet of shade.
Once set up, invite all your friends out of the sun, rain, snow, or hail, including the tall ones, as the awning tops out at 92 inches tall, or just under 8 feet. The legs are fully adjustable in case you’re on uneven ground or need a certain height setup. Color options include gray or beige.
For owners of the Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Racks and Load Bar Systems, the company says the awnings include mounting kits. Mounting kits for other brands are also available to order. The awning will also mount up on either driver or passenger sides of a vehicle, but buyers need to specify their preference when ordering. Click here for more information.
