Since launching the LightRanger telescoping lantern three years ago, Devos has listened to a lot of customer feedback and continues to innovate based on the needs of the overlanding community. Overland Pros – Baja Hardshell Wedge Roof Top Tent
The Overland Pros Baja Hardshell Roof Top Tent is an amazing sleeping experience. The tent easily deploys in seconds as the hydraulic struts lift the roof, creating a spacious wedge-shaped interior inside. The included two-inch-high density foam mattress, combined with the anti-condensation mat, provides an incredibly comfortable night’s sleep in the backcountry. A telescoping ladder up to 8.5 feet tall can attach to any of the three sides for access, even on lifted vehicles. An organizer with pockets attached to the interior roof includes a clear pocket for storing a headlamp to illuminate the inside of the tent. At only 8 inches high, the tent still allows for storage of sleeping bags and the ladder inside the tent greatly reducing set-up time and keeping gear out of the vehicle. The mattress measures 86 inches long by 52 inches wide, providing plenty of space for two adults to sleep comfortably. Sunflare solar panels at 126 or 252 watts are available as an option for mounting to the roof of the tent. Two crossbars are also included to mount accessories and/or bikes and kayaks to the tent. A couple of essential features elevate this tent over the competition. Sleeping in windy desert conditions can be challenging with a rain fly flapping around. The Baja tent was specifically designed with a rain fly that zips off completely. Without the rain fly attached, set-up time is further decreased as spring rods are not required. The tent has two small flaps near the front to allow a hose from a diesel heater into the tent for warmth on cold nights. In addition, the ventilation opening up top has a flap that can be closed to seal in warmer air or kept open for more cooling.
