Built on a galvanized steel chassis with Timbren’s axle-less HD suspension, the trailer’s composite body is topped with a pop-up roof, ensuring a low profile for travel and storage, but extends to give an interior head height of 6’8”. The Original
The original Hagglunds BV-206 was made in Sweden from 1985 to 1995 for military use. The HBV-206 is known the world over for being a vehicle capable of traversing extreme terrain. Both cabs and all four tracks are mechanically driven by the single powerplant in the front cab which makes the BV-206 so successful. Its ability to function in extreme weather year-round is unmatched. Engineering and design have kept these units working in 30 countries to this day.
The Tracked Outdoors BV-206
The BV-206 is refurbished with a new engine and transmission furthering its ability even more. The Hagglunds BV-206 is upgraded and powered by a Cummins diesel R2.8 with 161 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Behind this Cummins is a Mopar 8-speed manual gear selectable automatic transmission. This gives it the ability to achieve speeds of 35 MPH on hard pack. The powerplant is capable of moving the BV-206 over pavement, gravel, mud, snow, and can propel it over water at 2 mph.
The wiring is upgraded and engineered to be a 12v system, custom-made to fit the rigorous duty of the BV206. It is complete with LED lighting inside and out; engine gauges for accurate monitoring of the Cummins powerplant, a GPS speedometer for accuracy, and a USB outlet power to keep those gadgets you own charged and ready. Installation of high-output heaters in the front and rear cabs keeps you warm during cold drives.
