There’s just something about a meal that takes place in the backcountry. Whether alone or with friends, the simplest of dishes or a feast you’ll never forget, everything just tastes better after a long day on the trail. This month, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite pieces of kit that can help you create delicious memories on your next overland adventure.
CoolerClips — Cooler Accessories
CoolerClips is the perfect cooler accessory to join you on your next outdoor adventure. They are handmade accessories, cupholders, table boards, and rod holders that attach to hard and soft coolers. They fit on all the major brands, Yeti, RTIC, Orca to Igloo, etc., made from durable HDPE material, which is used throughout the marine industry. Making them compatible with food, UV resistant, and practically indestructible like your cooler.
The cupholders come in two sizes: either three cups for smaller coolers or four cups for larger coolers. They are designed to handle V-shaped cups/tumblers. You have the option to add webbing to hold cans and bottles of water. All cupholders also have wine glass slots to hold two wine glasses. Tableboards are sized the same. Rod holders feature two or four-rod setups again based on the size of your cooler.
The “C” clip slides into the tie-down hole on the cooler, allowing the accessory to simply slide on. With the unique U-shaped design, you can still load a tie-down strap with the clip in place. For Softcoolers, we provide V brackets that slide into the Molle webbing to provide an anchor point for the C clip. You can either do single decks, one accessory, or double decks, two accessories. When it’s time to leave, simply throw them back in the cooler, and you are off to your next destination.Â

Dryad Cookery — Kitchen Tools
The wilderness is unforgiving. It demands resilience, adaptability, and a touch of finesse. When it comes to outdoor cooking, the tools you choose can make the difference between a memorable feast and a forgettable fiasco. Dryad Cookery’s spatulas and tongs are crafted from titanium and G-10. These aren’t just tools; they’re a statement of intent, a commitment to culinary excellence even in the harshest of environments.
Titanium is often hailed as a wonder material, and for good reason. Boasting the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal, it’s incredibly durable without being cumbersome. For the outdoor chef, this means a spatula or pair of tongs that can withstand the rigors of open-flame cooking, accidental drops, and the occasional over-enthusiastic steak flip, all while being light enough to pack alongside your other overland essentials.
But the benefits of titanium don’t stop at its strength. It’s also remarkably resistant to corrosion, even in saltwater environments. So whether you’re grilling by the beach or simmering a stew high in the mountains, your tools will remain pristine. Plus, titanium doesn’t react with food, ensuring that your dishes remain untainted by metallic tastes.
While titanium might steal the limelight, G-10 is the unsung hero in Dryad Cookery’s lineup. A high-pressure fiberglass laminate, G-10 is known for its incredible toughness, resistance to moisture, and insulating properties. In layman’s terms? It’s virtually indestructible. For handles, this means a grip that won’t warp, crack, or become slippery, no matter the conditions. The textured finish ensures a secure grip, which is crucial when you’re handling hot food or cooking over an open flame.
What truly sets Dryad Cookery’s tools apart is the synergy between titanium and G-10. Together, they create a product that’s more than the sum of its parts. The lightweight strength of titanium combined with the rugged durability of G-10 results in tools that are perfectly balanced, both in terms of weight and performance. Overland cooking is as much about the journey as it is about the destination. It’s about embracing the challenges of nature and turning them into opportunities. With Dryad
Cookery’s titanium and G-10 spatulas and tongs, you’re not just equipped to face these challenges; you’re poised to master them. For the discerning overland chef, there’s simply no better choice.

Overland Cookery — Chef Services and Cookbook for Vehicle-Based Adventure Travel
Established by author and chef Jason Schaub in 2017, Overland Cookery offers industry-leading remote destination dining services for expeditions traveling earth’s most rugged terrain. From corporate media events to private parties, Overland Cookery curates unparalleled wilderness dining experiences in the world’s most magnificent locations.
Dream of hosting a wedding at Alstrom Point or launching a product with automotive journalists on the Mojave Road? Overland Cookery’s expertise ensures you and your guests will be treated to world-class food in the most extremes of terrain.
In addition to his private chef services, Jason has authored a cookbook under the same name, Overland Cookery, detailing the logistics and rationales underlying vehicle-based adventure travel meal planning.
Chef Jason, who holds a Master’s of Public Health Nutrition, was frustrated with the lack of a robust method for meal planning overland adventures. So, tired of re-inventing the wheel on every trip, he decided to create one.
Now in its second edition, the Overland Cookery cookbook provides readers with everything they need to prepare excellent meals while overlanding. The cookbook is designed to take readers away from what Jason refers to as “standard camping fare,” uninspiring meals often overly reliant on processed foods high in sodium and saturated fats. A dash of foresight in the planning stages of the trip while utilizing Overland Cookery’s meal-planning methods opens the door to tremendous gains in creative menu development when out on the trail.
The Overland Cookery cookbook utilizes a novel ingredient-perishability ranking system based on USDA and FDA standards, enabling readers to plan meals up to two weeks in advance without having perishable food go bad in either dry or cold storage.

The Ultimate Skottle Grill Kit includes all of the most important TemboTusk accessories in one place. TemboTusk created this kit for your convenience and to showcase just how useful each item in the kit is. There is no need to hunt around the website looking for everything you need. Only the most important items and accessories are included with the Ultimate Skottle Kit.
Now, what exactly is included in the Ultimate Skottle Grill Kit? TemboTusk packs it with everything you could possibly need for your cooking adventures outdoors. A Skottle grill, Kovea burner, gas adapter, adjustable legs, and carry bag are the stars of the show. The kit also contains a stainless steel lid, steam tray, wind guard, and bamboo leg table. In addition, TemboTusk provides you with a free Buzzy Waxx tin, a wooden spatula, and a cast iron plastic scraper. The grill is fabricated in the USA and comes pre-seasoned, so it can be used immediately.
Jerry L’Ecuyer founded Tembo Tusk in 2010 because he could not find what he needed in the market. Inspired by the South African roots of his wife, Jerry released his first product and entered the overlanding world. Most of the products TemboTusk makes are born into existence because Jerry personally needed them in his overland and off-road vehicle. In 2015 TemboTusk introduced the Skottle Grill to the American market. The “Skottle” means shallow dish in Afrikaans and is the main cooking appliance for South African campers in the bush. After its launch by TemboTusk, the Skottle Grill took off and was accepted by the overland public as their “go-to” for cooking while camping. TemboTusk manufactures robust, durable, American-made gear because they don’t like to buy the same gear twice. Their gear is designed to last a lifetime or more, and if it doesn’t, they will replace it.
The TemboTusk Skottle can be used to cook anything, anywhere, anytime. You could be camping, tailgating at a game, or even at home! Some of the most popular foods to cook on the Skottle include cinnamon rolls, tacos, popcorn, and stir fry. Another TemboTusk fan favorite is any kind of meat. The Skottle has seen steak, fish, sausage, chicken, lamb, and so much more! Even vegetarians enjoy using the Skottle and cooking up deliciously seasoned vegetables. There’s nothing better than being able to enjoy a hot meal from a mountaintop, the side of a dirt road, or your own backyard. TemboTusk encourages you to get out of the kitchen and into the great outdoors, where there is so much more to explore!
