Survival Food So Good That You Wont Believe It’s Survival Food

Just like your inReach and first aid kit, a stash of emergency food is one of those things that’s good to have on hand. Hopefully you’ll never need it, but if you do, you’ll be glad you have it. However, the problem with much of the packaged emergency food on the market today is, though generally high in calories, it often lacks redeeming nutritional value. Fortunately the folks at Nutrient Survival are out to change that.

For the last 8 years, Nutrient Survival has been producing great tasting, nutrient dense foods that are shelf-stable and easy to prepare. Chock full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and omega-3s, Nutrient Survival’s foods are designed to give your body essential nutrients when you need them most. Plus, they’re so darn tasty, you’ll probably want to eat them even if it’s not an emergency!

Homestyle Scramble — Eva Rupert

I brought along Nutrient Survival’s Homestyle Scramble for one of my breakfasts on a recent weekend camping trip in the desert and it did not disappoint. After boiling water for my french press (coffee always comes first in my book), I filled a bowl with a cup of the dried mix and poured some water over the top. After letting it sit for about five minutes covered, I lifted the lid to reveal my protein-packed breakfast of champions. I gave it a stir, doused it with hot sauce, and it was delicious– the perfect fuel for a day of desert exploring!

Southwestern Medley — Zach Elseman

While traveling, I try to cook using fresh ingredients as often as possible, but sometimes fresh ingredients aren’t readily available or I don’t have the time to shop, prep, or cook a full meal when exploring. On a recent one-tank adventure to explore some local fishing spots, I packed a pouch of Nutrient Survival’s Southwestern Medley in case my fishing attempts were fruitless. Needless to say, after a failed afternoon of attempting to catch dinner, i relaxed at camp with a quick, simple, and delicious meal in a bag. In less than ten minutes, my delicious meal of beans, peppers, rice and spices was ready to eat. The meal was completely self-contained, making clean-up extremely simple. Nutrient Survival meals are shelf stable for a really long time, so I am packing away a few more pouches for future fruitless fishing adventures.

Triple Cheese Mac — Azure O’Neil

After a long day of cool-weather riding, there is nothing I crave more than a quick, hearty, high fat-content meal to warm me up. However, “hearty” and “high fat-content” usually equate to “heavy,” and extra weight is not my friend when I’m navigating rocky trails which may see me having to pick up my motorcycle after a few “oopsie” moments. Enter the Triple Cheese Mac from Nutrient Survival. As simple to prepare as boiling water and stirring a spoon, I was enjoying my dinner before my engine had completely cooled. In addition to the unique blend of vitamins and minerals, I loved that there were hints of seasoning like thyme, basil and bay leaf. Definitely above and beyond your average mac-n-cheese meal!
