Based on some recently filed patents, Stellantis may be looking to give the 1500 Rebel package some additional trail-cred with the OTG package. The Ram 1500 OTG, short for Off the Grid, debuted as a concept at the 2019 SEMA show.

While there hasn’t been any confirmation that the OTG is coming to production, the recent patent filings share similarities with the concept, including a snorkel, a bespoke grille, and bumpers that differ from current offerings.

One of the most exciting details outlined in the patents is the front bumper which includes driving lights and a winch. It shares more than a passing resemblance to the 2500 Power Wagon front bumper.

Even without confirmation of production plans, these images are exciting to overlanding enthusiasts. As the community continues to grow, it’s great to see manufacturers producing vehicles that are not only capable but also well equipped to hit the trail right off of the lot. A Power Wagon-esque 1500 Ram would be a great option for overlanding. Hopefully, more details about this Off the Grid-inspired Ram will be available soon.
