Power Inverter: Wagan Tech Pure Line 2000

OE-UltimateBuild-Medium-Color.jpeg

If you’re adding solar power to your rig like we did, you’ll need an inverter. We picked Wagan Tech’s Pure Line 2000. All Wagan Tech’s models are RoHS compliant, CE approved, and ETL certified to conform to UL458 Standards & CSA C22.2#107.1.

We like it because it’s both compact and powerful. In fact, it can sustain its maximum load continuously for 24 hours. Although it’s unlikely we’ll put that kind of load on the system for that duration of time, it’s nice to know it can handle it if we do.

This capability creates more than just ease of mind; it also distinguishes the Pure Line from its competitors. Most inverters are only rated at 20 minutes of continuous wattage. After 20 minutes, the output wattage will drop down by as much as 25%. In a 400 watt inverter, that can be a 100 watt loss.
