Family Friendly SoCal: Four Ways to Have Fun With the Kids

All Overland Expo events are fun for all ages, and our newest event in Southern California is no different. Check out these four fun ways to involve your kids in the world of family friendly overlanding at Overland Expo SoCal, taking place this weekend in Costa Mesa, California.

Scavenger Hunt

One of our most popular ongoing events throughout the Expo is our Scavenger Hunt. Set your kids on course to learn to navigate by playing our fun scavenger hunt that will take them to a variety of interesting spots around the Expo while they learn how to read maps and collect prizes.

Kids’ Driving Course with the Overland Expo Foundation and Tread Lightly

Drive remote control (RC) trucks through an obstacle course while learning all about responsible recreation, land stewardship, and being aware of sensitive areas. This event is put on by Tread Lightly and the Overland Expo Foundation, two organization who help care for the land so future generations can enjoy it.

Collect Patches and Stickers

Kids can collect patches and stickers from vendors around the expo to show their love for camping, overlanding, and spending time in nature with their family.

Cooking Classes

Learn from the likes of Connie Rodman, Chef Chad White, and Check Corso as they teach chefs of all ages how to prepare fantastic meals for camp, from dehydrating and preparing ingredients beforehand to putting together delicious food at basecamp or while venturing off on a day trip.
