Overland Expo is next week (wow!), and that means adventurers from all walks of life will be heading to Flagstaff, Arizona — including plenty of families that overland together! Of course, overlanding is a great family activity, and from the full-time travelers to the weekend warriors, we’re always happy to see kids and parents involved in this wonderful community.

While there’s plenty of fun for the whole family, we have some great activities for a wide range of pint-sized attendees in the Kids Adventure Area sponsored by the Bronco Wild Fund and Desert Ford Dealers. For starters, the RC Driving Course sponsored by the Overland Expo Foundation is always a big hit, and it’s back for another round of remote control adventure with tiny 4×4 obstacles that will challenge the tiny trucks on the course. The RC Driving Course is also the center for lots of other kids’ activities, including Field Journaling for Kids, Origami on the Go, Adventure Filmmaking, Backwards Archaeology, Conservation for Kids, and — as a Sunday special — Leave it Better Than You Found It: A Clean-Up Scavenger Hunt. And be sure you don’t miss the other courses, Fire Building and Fire Safety for Kids, Knife Safety for Kids, Cool Camp Games, and more, led by our fan-favorite instructor, Captain Rusty.

Beyond the kids’ activities, we want to inspire the whole family to get out there and explore. You can get all of your questions answered and plenty of adventure-family inspiration at Overland Expo West. We’re fortunate to have a great group of instructors and round-table participants who have traveled the world over with the whole crew in tow.
