Join All-Around Adventure Man Rusty Rice in the Kids Adventure Area at Overand Expo Mountain West

If you’re looking to meet a modern-day Renaissance Man, look no further than the Kid’s Adventure Area at Overland Expo Mountain West. In this space, Rusty Rice (a.k.a. Captain Rusty), will be teaching kid-centric first aid, knot-tying for kids of all ages, and new games to play around camp. You can see the full Kid’s Adventure Area schedule below.

Rusty’s list of trainings and certifications is just as varied, and includes Tread Lightly! Master Trainer, Boulder Outdoor Survival School Instructor, and several PADI scuba certs to name a few. While Rusty, who goes by Captain Rusty is a legitimate sea Captain, he also appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean II and III (when he wasn’t busy working as part of the production crew). When chatting with Rusty and hearing about his life experiences, it’s clear that he lives by his motto, which is “to make the world a better place through the sharing of adventures.”

Capt Rusty also teaches Navigation, Knot Tying, CPR, First Aid, Wilderness Medicine, Firearms Safety and other outdoor skills as part of his own business, Capt. Rusty’s Adventure Outfitters. He currently lives in Moab, UT where he works as an EMT and teaches in his spare time.
