Based upon the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, the build embodies Overland Expo’s vision of the ultimate overland motorcycle.
- A stock 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro was modified to exemplify Overland Expo’s vision of the Ultimate Overland Motorcycle, including components from Bridgestone, Denali Electronics, Helinox, Mosko Moto, Optima, Outback Motortek, Ram, and Redverz, with graphics by Taco Moto.
- Debuting at Overland Expo West 2023, the adventure motorcycle will appear at Overland Expo events throughout the year and tackle iconic trails throughout the U.S. along the way.
- At the end of the show season, the Triumph Tiger 1200 will be auctioned off on Bring a Trailer, with 100% of proceeds going to the Overland Expo Foundation charity.
Flagstaff, Arizona — Overland Expo reveals its Ultimate Overland Motorcycle 2023 at Overland Expo West. Exclusively utilizing parts and expertise from Overland Expo exhibitors, the motorcycle embodies Overland Expo’s vision of the ultimate overland motorcycle.
“For our third Ultimate Build, we decided to go with the fully-redesigned Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro. Utilizing the latest in adventure motorcycle gear and components, we created an adventure motorcycle designed to tackle off-road challenges with ease and comfortably cruise the highway,” said Overland Expo Motorcycle Community Director Eva Rupert. “We built this incredible Tiger 1200 to inspire overlanders to get geared up and out on their own motorcycle adventures.”
Based upon the first-ever Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, the Ultimate Overland Motorcycle 2023 build brings together the latest parts and components from 10 Overland Expo exhibitors and partners.

About the Build
The 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro was selected as the platform for the Ultimate Overland Motorcycle for its off-road capability and long-haul comfort. Given its performance and its potential as a world-traveling powerhouse, the Tiger 1200 is the ideal platform for a large displacement overland bike build.
Fully redesigned and released in 2022, the new Tiger 1200 is the result of one of the most ambitious projects in Triumph’s history. The Tiger features a radical engine, chassis, and technology overhaul. Significantly lighter and much more powerful than the previous generation of Tiger, with class-leading specifications, the bike was designed to be the world’s most capable, agile, and maneuverable large-capacity adventure motorcycle.
The Ultimate Overland Motorcycle rides on Bridgestone Battlax Adventure Cross AX41 tires. This 40% on-road, 60% off-road tire features a proprietary tread pattern design, compound, and high-cross sectional area making the Tiger ready for all manner of adventures.
Denali Electronics lighting illuminates the Tiger 1200’s adventures with a set of D7 and D2 Light Pods, T3 Modular Switchback Signal Pods, and a Soundbomb Mini Horn, all of which are controlled by the CANsmart Controller GEN II. With their high-output, precision optics, Denali delivers durability and crystal clear lighting, to see and be seen in all riding conditions.
Protecting the Triumph from the rigors of off-road wear and tear are crash bars and a skid plate from Outback Motortek. This set includes a full set of lower and upper crash bars along with a 5.0mm-thick aluminum skid plate for protecting the Tiger from potential off-road damage. Additionally, the Outback Motortek side pannier frames are coupled with a rear luggage rack. All components are frame-mounted and feature reinforced connection brackets for the crash bars, allowing the overall weight of the products to be kept low and the protection high.
Also on the handlebars, RAM Mounts hold riders’ cellphones. Built on the interchangeable ball and socket system, RAM incorporates non-slip functionality as well as shock and vibration damping. The spring-loaded RAM Quick-Grip holder provides a secure fit for a variety of large phones without the need for a rubber tether. For the rearview mirrors, the Tiger 1200 features Doubletake Mirrors, which are held by RAM components.
To carry all of the camping essentials for long-distance adventure travel, the Tiger is equipped with Backcountry Panniers and a Backcountry Duffel from Mosko Moto. The bags feature extremely durable construction and heavy-duty materials that stand up to the rigors of adventure travel. The Backcountry Panniers incorporate a quick-mount wedge system that makes it easy to take the panniers off the bike, and a proprietary ‘Speed-Pin’ latch, ensuring the mounting system is engaged while riding.
To complete the adventure-explorer theme of the motorcycle, a graphic wrap with a world map abstract was designed by Taco Moto. Taco Moto specializes in parts and accessories for dual sport and light adventure motorcycles and makes some of the most clever graphics available on the market today.
An OPTIMA Orange Top battery powers up the Tiger 1200 and, for comfortable evenings in camp, the Tiger will travel with a limited-edition Atacama Expedition Motorcycle Tent from Redverz. The large-capacity tent has a full garage for pulling the bike into at night or setting up the Helinox table and chair for a cozy evening in the backcountry.

The Ultimate Overland Motorcycle 2023 will make its in-person debut at 9 a.m. MDT on May 19, 2023 at Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, Arizona. It will appear at two additional Overland Expo events in 2023, including Pacific Northwest in Redmond, Oregon and Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado. The Ultimate Overland Vehicle will also be on display at the first-ever Outdoor Adventure X show June 17-18 in Huntsville, Utah.
Throughout the year, the Ultimate Overland Motorcycle will be riden by Overland Expo staff, brand partners, and members of the media along some of the U.S.’s most iconic trails.
At the conclusion of the show season, the Ultimate Overland Motorcycle will be auctioned off on Bring a Trailer with 100% of the proceeds going to the Overland Expo Foundation.
