This morning, Midland, the leader in GMRS radio technology, revealed its new flagship radio: the MXT575 MicroMobile 50-Watt two-way radio. The MXT575 builds on the MXT500 by packing the maximum legally allowed radio power in a fully integrated control mic.

For comparison, while the MXT500 has a control box and separate mic, the MXT575 has both its controls and mic in one unit. This saves space in your rig, since you can tuck the radio base unit out of sight, leaving only the control mic mounted out on your dashboard.

With 50 Watts of broadcasting power, the MXT575 radio is the most powerful GMRS radio allowed by law. The MXT575 is the perfect vehicle communication for off-roaders, overlanders, and outdoor and powersport enthusiasts. What’s more, it is compatible with all Midland FRS/GMRS walkie talkies.

The MXT575 can access 15 GMRS channels and 8 repeater channels. Plus it offers split tone repeater support. The MXT575 is equipped with NOAA Weather Scan + Alert technology to keep you informed on local weather conditions.

I am personally very excited about the MXT575 because with a modern rig like my 2022 Tundra, I require things to be as modern and compact as possible — I don’t really want a control box mounted on my dash. I’d much rather have a control mic with the radio box tucked away.
